Starship Troopers golden

Today Empire Interactive announced that Starship Troopers has finished development. The game will be released next month.

This game is based on the movie Starship Troopers. The film, released in 1997, follows a space marine as he and his comrades take on a seemingly endless onslaught of space bugs in the future. Gamers will be doing much of the same in the PC version--that is, slaughtering alien insects from a first-person perspective. The "seemingly endless onslaught" of bugs will be re-created by a game engine that lets up to 300 of the critters be onscreen at once. Casper van Dien, who played Johnny Rico in the film, provides the voice-over commentary in the game.

Starship Troopers is still awaiting pricing and rating information in North America.
