Surface Laptop priced from £979 to £2,149 in the UK - but it's only available in one colour

Microsoft introduced the latest addition to its Surface family today: the Surface Laptop, a premium notebook with a 13.5-inch display, and Intel's latest 7th-generation (Kaby Lake) processors. The device is available to pre-order in the United States, priced from $999; and now, Microsoft has also listed it on its UK store.

As in the US, the same four configurations will be available:

Processor RAM Storage (SSD) Price Color options
Intel Core i5 4GB 128GB £979

Platinum

Intel Core i5 8GB 256GB £1,249 Platinum
Intel Core i7 8GB 256GB £1,549 Platinum
Intel Core i7 16GB 512GB £2,149 Platinum

However, as you can see from the table above, Microsoft hasn't listed the Surface Laptop in any color other than Platinum in the UK, with no sign of the Burgundy, Cobalt Blue, and Graphite Gold options offered in the US.

The Surface Laptop is the first PC to run Windows 10 S, a new edition of the OS that's restricted to running Windows Store apps. Like their US counterparts, UK buyers will be offered a free upgrade to Windows 10 Pro until the end of the year, along with a free one-year Office 365 Personal subscription until October 15.
