T-Mobile expands Music Freedom, adds Xbox Music and 13 other streaming providers

T-Mobile has announced that its customers will be able to stream music from Xbox Music, Google Play, SoundCloud and a number of smaller providers without any data caps or costs on that data.
Now with more streaming providers than ever

T-Mobile, the maverick of US carriers, is moving ahead with its Music Freedom initiative, by adding 14 major partners, including Xbox Music. The move was just announced and no doubt many T-Mobile customers will have a lot to be happy about.

The smaller carrier has been trying very different things in recent years, in order to boost its marketshare, to attract customers and disrupt the telecom business in the States. T-Mobile likes to call itself the “un-carrier” and is offering its users free music streaming from a plethora of providers.

Starting today, customers will be able to stream music from Xbox Music, but also from Google Play and SoundCloud, with another 17 other smaller services as well. And whichever service you chose, you’ll be streaming without any data being charged.

This is a great deal for T-Mobile’s customers, especially those with a real passion for streaming music. Hopefully deals like this spread more widely and the industry follows T-Mobile as an example.
