According to the latest report by Counterpoint Research, the global smartphone market declined 4% YoY in the third quarter of 2020 but grew 32% QoQ indicating recovery post COVID-19.
India's smartphone shipments grew 9% YoY to reach over 53 million units. This is the highest-ever shipment in a quarter for the Indian smartphone market. Samsung is now the number one brand in India.
Global smartphone shipments saw a decline of 4% in 2018, marking the first time that worldwide deliveries dropped for a full calendar year. Huawei and Xiaomi, meanwhile, won big in the past year.
