Google is currently appealing a record €4.3 billion ($4.5 billion) antitrust fine imposed by the European Union, arguing that the penalty has negatively impacted its ability to innovate and compete.

The EU General Court has fined the European Commission for a "serious breach" of GDPR, which requires strict protection of personal data transferred outside the EU.
Google has lost its appeal in the EU General Court for a case that required it to pay a €4.34 billion fine. Although this fine has been slightly reduced now, it is still its biggest penalty in the EU.
The EU's second-highest court has sided with Apple and Ireland in the latest episode of an on-going legal battle between the two and the European Commission. The Commission has 14 days to appeal.
