Alphabet's Loon company will be winding up in the coming months after the firm failed to become commercially viable. Alphabet will share what it learned from Loon and continue to use some of the tech.

Loon has announced that it has begun providing internet service for customers of Telkom Kenya. This will help those especially who are in rural areas away from cities where it's hard to get connected.
X has announced that its Loon and Wing projects are being spun off into their own companies under Alphabet. X will now focus its attention and start new projects to begin working on.
Project Loon could very well be coming to Kenya to provide connectivity for those in rural areas. Alphabet is currently in talks with telecoms in the country working out contracts.
