The FES Watch U is Sony's second crowdfunded e-ink watch, but it won't be available for all

Sony is back at it again with a new crowdfunded e-ink watch. The FES Watch U will be the successor to Sony's initial offering released a couple years ago. The watch starts at $438 USD.

It's been a couple years since Sony offered its initial e-ink watch to the public in the form of a crowdfunded project. But, Sony is back with a revised version of its FES Watch, the FES Watch U.

The FES Watch U will offer the same e-ink design that made the first one so unique. Much like the original, users will be able to customize the watch face and the watch band. Where the FES Watch U differs from its predecessor is in its steel bezel. Instead of a flat surface like the first model, the Watch U will actually have a physical bezel and look more like a traditional time piece.

The FES Watch U is a crowdfunded project that is only available to those in Japan. The watch starts at ¥ 44,710 which is roughly around $438 USD, and can go as high as ¥ 98,650 or $967 USD.
