This week's highlights in new game releases: July 11-17

As we have been for the past couple of weeks we find ourselves in a really slow time period in terms of new game releases for the PC and consoles. However there are still a few notable titles that will be coming out in the next seven days.

Ms Splosion Man - The big new game highlight, at least for us, is the Xbox 360 release of Ms Splosion Man. It's the latest wacky downloadable game from the collective minds of game developer Twisted Pixel. The sequel to the company's cult hit Splosion Man is a action-platformer where the title character quite literally explodes to accomplish various tasks such as jumping higher, taking out enemies and more. The game also has a multiplayer mode where you and a friend go though a separate and unique campaign and a rather different multiplayer mode where you control two characters with just one controller (each analog stick controls one of the two characters).

Other games due for release this week include NCAA Football 12 from Electronic Arts' EA Sports division. This latest game in the college football series is coming out on a number of console platforms but not on the PC. Also due out this week from EA is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. This will be the final game based on the fantasy movie series (which of course are based on the best selling novels) and is also coming out for various console platforms as well as the PC.
