Thursday's PC game sales get us set up for the weekend

With a shortened work week thanks to Memorial Day, Thursday's PC game sales deals get us ready for the weekend. Here's what's on tap:

Steam - Valve's PC game download site offers up a weekend sale on the first three games in Volition's Red Faction sci-fi shooter series. You can get all three games for 75 percent off their normal price this weekend only. You can also get all those games for free if you pre-order the next game in the series, Red Faction Armageddon. Finally pre-ordering Red Faction Armageddon will also get you The Maul, a new weapon for the Pyro character if you own Valve's multiplayer shooter Team Fortress 2.

Also, Steam's daily deal gets you all five episodes of Telltale's adventure game Tales of Monkey Island for just $11.90, a 66 percent discount. And don't forget you can download and play the full multiplayer portion of Call of Duty Black Ops via Steam for free from now until 1 pm Eastern time on Sunday.

Direct2Drive - This weekend's deal at Direct2Drive is a sale of all DLC map packs for all games in its library. You can get a 15 percent discount if you use the promo code "Extras" at check out.

Impulse - Gamestop's download site has a weekend sale of several games including the recent first person shooter Crysis 2 for 50 percent off. Also today's daily deal is for the historical strategy game Hegemony Gold which is on sale for just $7.49.

DotEmu - You can get the casual game Hammerin' Harry from the site for free for today only.
