Last fall, while PlayStation 2 and GameCube owners were jamming with THPS3 on their consoles, Xbox gamers were left to contend with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2X, a holdover rehash of the earlier titles. An Xbox version of the third game was coming, but it would take a while. The old adage says that "the longer the wait, the riper the fruit," and thankfully, this game is quite sweet, boasting enhanced visuals and extra options that its brethren lack. Whether you're an old-school THPS fanboy or a newbie to the series, this game will astound you.
It's an awesome game on any system, and luckily, the Xbox version beats the other two in all the right ways.
Pros: Perfect control, amazing level design, ingenious learning curve, sharp graphics, rip your own tunes.
Cons: Skating with the chunky controller might hurt your hands.
