Unboxing Lenovo's flagship gaming laptop, the Legion 7i

Back in April, Lenovo showed off its new gaming laptops, which offer a choice of Intel's Comet Lake-H processors or AMD's Ryzen 4000 chips. The Legion 7i, as the 'i' indicates, has Intel's processors in it, along with Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics. In fact, the model that Lenovo sent me has a Core i7-10750H and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER, so there's a lot of power under the hood here.

On top of that, the screen comes with 500-nit brightness and a 240Hz refresh rate. That's the kind of FHD panel that I want to see from a gaming laptop. In fact, that's the brightness that I look for in any laptop, especially with that anti-glare finish. And the high refresh rate gives you that extra edge you need.

While Lenovo hasn't changed the overall design much over the last couple of generations, it has focused on a few key things. For one thing, there's more RGB lighting. Besides the logo in the lid and the keyboard, the border along the base and the vents in the rear corners are all customizable. Another thing that Lenovo has focused on is cooling, with its ColdFront 2.0 technology.
