Thanks Gott who tells us that Morpheus 2.0 has been released but there are no details at all because their site only allows you to download this file which is strange because it doesn't even say what it is or offer a change log.
At the time of writing there is little or no information on Streamcast's websites regarding Morpheus 2.0 nor have there been any major reviews but here is what is now known about it:
- Morpheus 2.0 is based on Jtella. Jtella has not been updated for a year or 2. Like Limewire (but it does not use Limewire code) it is written in Java.
- Morpheus 2.0 comes bundled with Paltalk (IM Software) and McAfee.
- Contrary to some reports it is not impossible to upload with this client. However, It seems that you can download but not upload from some Gnutella clients.
- This new version of Morpheus apparently doesn't support Ultrapeers
