Want To Deathmatch A U.S. Soldier?

American civilians will have the chance to challenge a group of four U.S. soldiers in an online version of the "America's Army" video game.

The U.S. Army announced today that it has teamed with Ultimate Arena to hold an America's Army Ultimate Arena E3 Tournament. The final match between a team of four civilians and four active duty U.S. Army Soldiers will take place at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) trade show in Los Angeles which runs May 14-16, 2003.

The prize? $7,500, in a combination of cash and travel expenses. Qualifying tournament matches will take place from between March 17th through April 25th, when participants can play as individuals or teams of any size. The sixteen civvies with the highest individual score will arrange themselves into four-person teams and play each other for the rights to compete at E3.
