Flyby11 used to be a very popular app that allowed users to bypass Windows 11 requirements and install the OS on unsupported PCs. It was recently renamed to Flyoobe, with a new purpose: offering a new out-of-the-box experience (OOBE) that enables you to "debloat" your Windows 11 installation. In the past month or so, Flyoobe has received a steady stream of updates, and now, the developer has rolled out version 1.6 with a bunch of new stuff.
Flyoobe 1.6 packs major enhancements to views. The main Home / Start view has been revamped to highlight the four core views of the tool. In addition, the Install Only OOBE view that was introduced in version 1.5 has received significant upgrades, including full-text search, one-click actions, badges, and optimizations for clean installs and repairs. Additionally, the Experience OOBE view's core functionality has also been enhanced. Overall, all the views have netted visual refinements to make them more consistent.
On the app installation front, which is the primary focus of Flyoobe, we have a smarter bloat remover, which can uninstall unnecessary apps more reliably. The app installer also includes new options that you can choose to install during OOBE.
Finally, in terms of performance, the app now starts up faster by a few milliseconds and consumes less RAM, too. The developer has also fixed minor bugs here and there, which should result in a more polished experience.
In terms of what's next, the developer has begun prepping for the unification of the Flyby11 and Flyoobe projects in a single codebase. This process will start in a few weeks. Meanwhile, those interested in staying on the bleeding edge of Flyoobe should try out the Nightly Dev build in this direct download link here.
If you're eager to try out stable builds of Flyoobe, you can do so from our dedicated Software stories section here, but do keep in mind that any software that customizes the internal default functionality of Windows carries its own set of risks, so only install Flyoobe if you trust the developer and accept those risks.
