Windows Phone 8.1 based Yezz Billy 5S LTE becomes official

Yezz Mobile's mid-range Windows Phone device, the Billy 5S LTE, was announced at CES 2015 today.

The Billy range of smartphones-- which launched in honour of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates-- has just got another member in the form of Billy 5S LTE. Yezz Mobile joined the Windows Phone bandwagon last year with the launch of Billy 4.7 and Billy 4.

OEMs have helped Windows Phone reach lower price points and now, the Billy 5S LTE is expected to bring 4G connectivity in an inexpensive smartphone. However, the company hasn't disclosed the pricing and availability information yet, but judging by their previous devices it should be reasonably priced.

The hardware specifications of the Windows Phone 8.1-running Billy 5S LTE are as follows:

  • Quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor
  • HSPA+ 850/900 or 1900/2100 LTE 700/1700/2600 or 800/1800/2600 (depending on launch market)

  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB onboard storage (plus microSD support up to 64GB)
  • 5-inch HD (1280x720px) IPS LCD
  • 13MP rear camera
  • 5MP front-facing camera
  • Dual-SIM
