Windows XP/64 Updates

Thanks Philipp for mailing me these updates. Microsoft has released new Windows XP updates:

Windows XP Patch: Hard Disk May Become Corrupted When Entering Standby or Hibernation

The flush cache command is not issued to a large hard disk that has 48-bit logical block addressing (LBA) enabled. Therefore, the hard disk may become corrupted when you enter either standby or hibernation. Download now to protect the hard disk when entering Standby or Hibernation.

Windows XP Patch: Panasonic DV Camera May Not Enumerate

After you upgrade to Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1), you may experience problems when you try to use your digital video (DV) camera. The Panasonic NV-C5 DV camera may not be enumerated correctly when you plug it into your computer. The camcorder driver is not loaded, but no error messages are reported. You hear the new-device-enumeration sound and you see the new-device bubble, but only the lower drivers in the stack are loaded. Without the top-level camcorder driver, the device does not seem to be discovered by Windows. Download now to enable the Panasonic DV Camera to enumerate.
