The first shots of Winning Eleven 8 (Pro Evolution 4 to European pundits) are in and while we can't see anything new in the two screens, we're beginning to feel that Pro Evo tingle all over again.
Very little is known about this new instalment of the finest football game ever but we're aware that the Master League mode will now boast 130+ teams - a significant increase over Pro Evo 3's 64. The only other tidbit is that a new "growth and decline" mechanism is being introduced - apparently, a constantly updating handicap system. Whether this is in regard to just teams or encompasses individual players' stats isn't clear.
World Soccer Winning Eleven 8 will debut on PS2 in Japan on 5 August. Expect information on its European counterpart soon.
