The February 2026 Xbox update is here with higher resolution support for Xbox Cloud Streaming on consoles and system updates for the ASUS Xbox ROG Ally handheld console.

Starting with Xbox Cloud Streaming, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One X|S owners can now stream games in a higher resolution. Microsoft is now letting you receive picture in 1440p, alongside a higher bitrate for sharper visuals and more responsive gameplay. The company adds that 1440p streaming is now available across all supported titles and regions where Xbox Cloud Streaming is available. Just make sure your Internet and Wi-Fi are good enough to handle the stream.

For PC users, Microsoft has prepared new system sounds. Now, as you navigate the system with your controller, you will hear "subtle navigation sounds," which are supposed to improve the experience and make it more responsive and intuitive. You will hear sounds when changing focus, selecting items, navigating back, and more. Those who prefer not to hear any system sounds can turn them off in Settings > Audio. There is also the option to adjust the volume of system sounds.
