You can now watch Instagram Live videos on desktops

Instagram has rolled out a new update that makes its live content available for viewing on more devices. Instagram Live videos can now be watched on the web (via Android Police).

That means live streams are now viewable on your desktop in addition to mobile devices. The latest change to its web interface comes in handy for those of you who like watching live streams on bigger screens while stuck at home. It also brings a more convenient viewing experience to users as it separates the comments from the video by taking advantage of the extra screen space at the right. On mobile platforms, comments appear inside the video frame, occupying the bottom area so it obstructs your view.

However, broadcasting live content from the web does not appear to be available for the time being. That said, the new update addresses a longtime limitation in Instagram's web version, especially for content creators. It also marks the latest change to its web interface. Late last week, the Facebook-owned photo and video sharing service launched support for Instagram Direct messages on the web, now available for everyone.
