Your Phone is now Phone Link with new interface and HONOR support

Your Phone, the app Microsoft introduced about three years ago to befriend Android smartphones and Windows 10/11, is now officially Phone Link. The new name comes with a fresh Windows 11-like design, improved navigation, and expansions to the China market. The company wants to position Phone Link as a bridge between a smartphone and a computer, and, to reflect the change, Microsoft also renamed the Your Phone Companion app to Link to Windows.

With the new name comes a new interface optimized to match Windows 11 UI better. The program now features tabbed navigation, more modern controls, rounded corners™, refreshed color palette, and updated iconography. Microsoft says it placed all the important capabilities and content from your smartphone right at your fingertips to access things faster. The notification center is now fixed in the left sidebar, and messages, photos, apps, and calls are split across four separate from the notification center tabs.

Microsoft also changed how customers connect their smartphones to Windows PCs. The first feature update for Windows 11 will offer you to pair an Android phone with the PC using a QR code during the initial setup.

Another big change that comes with the new name and redesigned UI is Phone Link reaching out to new customers. The app and its capabilities are now available in China for the owners of HONOR Magic V, Magic 4, and Magic 3 Series smartphones.

For some reason, Microsoft here uses the old Your Phone design.

HONOR is the third smartphone manufacturer to offer additional Phone Link capabilities previously available only for the Surface Duo and Samsung phones. Although Phone Link works with any modern Android smartphone, the most exciting features, such as app streaming, require more tight software integration. So far, such integration exists in the Surface Duo, Samsung, and now HONOR devices.

The updated Phone Link app is available in the Microsoft Store.
