Zen Studios is best known for their best selling pinball games for the PC, consoles and mobile devices. Today, the developer announced an all new game that combines two genres; the tower defense title and the real time strategy game. It's called CastleStorm, and judging by the debut trailer, it looks like it will be a lot of fun.
The game has players defending their castle against a horde of attacking foes with various defenses (including flinging some sheep at the enemy) as well as deploying units such as swordsmen, knights, axe throwers and more. The game also allows players to design and build their own castle to make sure their walls and defenses are the best they can be.
There are two sides to pick in CastleStorm; the Knights or the Vikings. Each level in the game will also have its own objectives, such as merely destroying an enemy's castle to capturing the flag and more. CastleStorm will also have multiplayer support but Zen Studios is keeping details about multiplayer to themselves for now.
CastleStorm will be released sometime later this year for "multiple platforms" but Zen Studios isn't giving any specifics on the platforms the game will appear on yet.
