PillowView is a free, open-source image viewer and lightweight editor for Windows 10/11 x64, built with Python and Pillow. Inspired by IrfanView, it offers fast performance, dark mode, and portable usage without installation. It supports a wide range of image formats, including static, animated, and RAW files, and provides basic editing tools such as color adjustments, filters, and effects. Extensible via plugins, PillowView adds video frame import, OCR, PDF/EPS support, scanner integration, and a custom .PIL format with Windows thumbnail support.
PillowView supports a wide variety of image formats, including popular types like JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, WEBP, and AVIF, as well as RAW and multi-page formats. Animated formats such as APNG, GIF, and FLI/FLC are supported. Through plugins, it can read Camera RAW, PDF, EPS, AI, SVG, CorelDraw (CDR), FreeHand (FH/FHx), and OpenDocument Graphic (ODG) files. The app also handles multi-frame images from video files via FFmpeg and provides a custom .PIL format preserving all Pillow-supported modes.
