HP Envy x360 13 with AMD Ryzen 4000 unboxing and first impressions

HP's Envy lineup is always pretty solid. It's just below the flagship Spectre lineup, so you end up with a lot of premium perks, but at a not-so-premium price. That's where the Envy x360 13 comes in, with its AMD Ryzen 4000 processors.

HP shrunk down the footprint for this year's model, shrinking it down by 17.36mm. That's done by chopping down the bottom bezel, and even the top bezel is a bit smaller, going from 11.6mm to 9.71mm. Now, it has an 88% screen-to-body ratio, instead of 79%.

It's made of all aluminum, using the angled design that we've come to know from HP. The color is called Nightfall Black, although it doesn't have the same copper-colored accents that you'd find on a Spectre. This one is all black, except for the silver HP logo stamped on the lid.

As usual, HP is promising great battery life, with 13.1 hours of battery life with local video playback at about 150 nits. The FHD screen itself, however, goes up to 400 nits, which is pretty solid for a laptop. With an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U, 8GB RAM, and a 256GB SSD, this model comes in at $799.99.
