HMD Global announced the Nokia 7.2 back in September, promising a big value proposition in the mid-range. At a price point of $299, it competes directly with Motorola's Moto G series, a device that I've always loved. But at the same price, the Nokia 7.2 has a better chipset and a better camera.
That chipset is the Snapdragon 660, a Qualcomm SoC that's built for the upper mid-range. It also packs a 6.3-inch 19:9 FHD+ display. As you'd probably expect, there's no in-display fingerprint sensor (it's on the back) or wireless charging. These are just features that don't exist at $299 yet.
The Nokia 7.2 includes a triple-lens camera, with a 48-megapixel f/1.8 main sensor. That uses quad pixel technology, combining four pixels into one for better low-light performance. There's also an eight-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a five-megapixel depth sensor. The selfie camera on the front supports 20-megapixel resolution, which also uses quad pixel technology to produce a 5MP image. You do have the option of getting full-resolution images from either camera though.
