StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is the second product in the StarCraft II trilogy featuring the zerg campaign and episode.

It will be released separately from the other two games, and is expected to be priced as an expansion. It follows StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty chronologically and storywise.

Heart of the Swarm is a sequel to Wings of Liberty. It focuses on Sarah Kerrigan and the development of a zerg empire. More will be seen of the Kel-Morian Combine and Umojan Protectorate. It will also have a separate ladder from Wings of Liberty.[/center]

The official Blizzard preview page is up: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/game/heart-of-the-swarm-preview/

updated the first post, a commentator got invited to blizzard headquarters apparently and recorded some real live game footage, much more detailed than the 2nd video I had up earlier.

It's up top, as well as here:

Awesome. Thanks for posting that video. (Y)

I just don' understand one thing .. if in WoL

kerrigan is turned human, why do the Zerg still follow her ?? And what happened to JImmy ??

I just hope they show us what the hell happened

I edited your post to add spoiler tags, just to be safe.

To answer your question...

If I understand it correctly, the Zerg Overmind (created by the Xel'Naga) knew about the coming darkness that will wipe out the Terrans, Protoss, and Zerg. You get to play that mission in the Wings of Liberty campaign ("In Utter Darkness"). Anyway, the Zerg Overmind knew about this darkness before Zeratul and what it did was create the Queen of Blades so that the Zerg may stand a chance against it. Obviously, the events of WoL changed things because Kerrigan was restored to her human form. Of course, that doesn't help things which explains the Heart of the Swarm campaign. You play as Kerrigan and work your way to becoming the Queen of Blades once again.

From what one of the devs said in an interview yesterday or the day before, Kerrigan isn't going to become a Zerg again and that she's responsible for billions of deaths and would be horrified of that obviously. I don't know why she's trying to control the Zerg again, but she is certainly trying to control some portions of them, and she is obviously able to get certain psionic powers (among others) back again during the HotS campaign. Don't ask me how though lol

awesome information, added blizzards official website up top as well.

Zerg is my least favourite race and despite that, I'm still looking forward to this expansion. I'm sure the campaign will be fun but to me, the real fun is on Battle.net. I can't wait to see the changes they make to the MP side.

So will they force people to buy it?

I guess they will.

Will Heart of the Swarm require ownership of Wings of Liberty?

For the regions that have a standard box business model such as North America and Europe, yes, Wings of Liberty will be required in order to play Heart of the Swarm.

I'm pretty sure that was never confirmed. I remember they were very wishy washy regarding whether the expansion packs would include new units or not.

It is an EXPANSION SET not a sequel game. keep that in mind. It is logical that it would require you to have the Base game to install the EXPANSION onto.

I'm curious as to how they are going to include a Protoss mission or Terran mission this go round (they said they will *probably* include them, but haven't guaranteed it) and make it actually make sense.

They included a whole Protoss sub-campaign in WoL, so I fully expect either a Protoss or Terran subcampaign in HotS (if not both).

Also, I've noticed some changes to the FX for the Protoss units - will the changes introduced in HotS be pushed into WoL? (It's already known tha HotS will *not* require WoL, though it can be added onto it.)

There are some serious changes to playing as the Zerg - also, the BattleFocus option for Kerrigan is a game-changer. But will the change be too much?

So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic Games store brought along two games from wildly different genres this week for PC gamers to claim. All you have to do is stick to the beat for the built-in or custom songs. Next, Citizen Sleeper is a sci-fi RPG adventure taking place in a ruined space station. It uses tabletop RPG-inspired elements like dice rolls and timers to change up how players approach its activities, factions, and storylines. The Citizen Sleeper and Robobeat giveaways end on June 25. On the same day, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and Voidwrought will become the next freebies. The bundle space expanded with two more collections from Humble this week too. The June 2unes bundle is up first, carrying plenty of rhythm games. This carries Kill the Music and Rhythm Witch in the $5 starting tier, followed by Trombone Champ, Spin Rhythm XD, and Thumper in the $7 tier. Paying at least $12 gets you the complete bundle, which adds on Kalpa: Cosmic Symphony, Everhood 2, NOISZ, and Sixtar Gate: StarTrail. The next bundle is for virtual reality fans. This carries Among Us 3D: VR and Zero Caliber VR for $10. The next tier brings in Tactical Assault VR, Ancient Dungeon, and Arizona Sunshine Remake for $15. • Poll: Grand Theft Auto VI price predictions, cast your vote by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe After years of waiting, Rockstar will be solidifying the launch date of Grand Theft Auto VI with the launch of pre-orders next week. While the studio has confirmed a date for this occasion, it is yet to attach a price to the highly anticipated game. So let's see what our readers think it will cost at launch. The Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will kick off on June 25 for digital and physical editions. Unless some last-minute changes happen, the release date will be November 19, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, there's still no information about a PC version from the developer or the publisher Take-Two. Now the question becomes, how much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost at launch? The game is predicted by some analysts to be the biggest launch of an entertainment product ever. With the amount of hype that has been built behind it and with ballooning development costs, Take-Two may price this Grand Theft Auto entry differently from other AAA titles. The current price of a AAA game is $69.99. That norm almost rose to $79.99 before calming down. But with such a massive release, Grand Theft Auto VI may be the game that pushes the boundary again. It's also possible that Take-Two keeps the price relatively low to increase the number of players that jump in early and keep them hooked on Grand Theft Auto Online to spend on microtransactions for years to come. Keep in mind that the below poll is asking for a prediction of the standard edition price, not a deluxe or any other special edition that Take-Two will introduce for additional benefits. Also, there is the chance of the company splitting up the campaign and online portions. If you think that will happen, put your vote on what you think will be the total cost of the two. Poll Poll: How much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost? $59.99 $69.99 $79.99 $89.99 $100 or more Submit Vote If you have a very specific prediction in mind, sound off in the comments below.
