This one is definitely an improvement over ME2 and i really love the story, dialogue, writing etc. Its just a lot more sensible than the second one, with people saying stuff you actually think they would say in real life. Of course the sound in space science is still there, but even the codex is better this time. And i think they did something in the background to the code, because my Shepard doesn't look so ugy anymore.

I don't mind James, he's a little cliched with the random Mexican Spanish, but other than that he's cool. The only thing i hate is the 360 version wanting disc changes all the time. Its not the getting up, its the ****ing drive chime.

Also bought the Prothean DLC, yeah i know it's bowing to EA bs but it sounds interesting. I want to meet a prothean. Did anyone else get it?

The Prothean DLC is worth it imo, quite a bit of interesting background and dialogue. I have the CE, so I got it for free :)

Really good game up until the last 15 mins. Horribly bad ending in terms of story and execution. The ommission of a major boss fight - with a certain someone - at the end is also unsatisfying.

This is in the arena of DAO2 bad and definitely strike 2 for biofail.

If you get to the 'light', personally id click exit and call it a day - your imagination will provide you with a far better ending than what you are in store for as well as leaving you happy with the trilogy and the game :)

I just finished the game and I didn't think the ending was that bad....but I'll admit there are massive plot holes that really did screw it up;

as shown in Arrival, you blow up a Mass Relay it takes out the entire solar system. Which means reguardless of what option you choose, you'll wipe out most of the organic races as well (since most of their homeworlds are in systems with a Relay in them). I can totally understand Shepard dying and even understand why the Citadel and Mass Relays must be destroyed but they [bioWare] shot themselves in the foot with demonstrating [in Arrival] how much damage a relay does when blown up. Then there is the second little problem, if the Reapers were able to move the Citadel at any time, what was the point of ME1? I'm sure there were other holes in the story too I missed, but I try not to read too deep into that as I try to just enjoy the game. However, the two I listed were so damn big it was hard to just ignore them

. Overall I thought it was a fantastic game, really enjoyed it but have to admit the ending could of been handled alot better.

plus the bit after the credits, that screams prequel. Shame on BioWare, they told us ME3 was the last time we see Shepard, even killed him/her to make the point clear and then lined up a prequel based around Shepard....shameless. That said, I'll still buy it and I'll still enjoy it :p

EDIT: Actually I take it back that I said that the ending was not so bad....it was utter crap. Thinking about it more, it feels like it was rushed and not well thought out at all (like they ran out of time and just quickly put something together to get it out the door in time). The rest of the campaign was fantastic, I was totally enjoying it and the ending just leaves you feeling "meh, that it?".

After the joke of a final boss fight in ME2, I'm glad they decided not too do one in ME3.

the Illusive Man is a but a shell of a man who has been a pawn of the Reapers for possibly a very long time. His greatest weapon is knowledge and a "boss fight" with him would seem wrong to be honest. The "war of words" we did get was more fitting (if you have the Collectors Edition, you'd know BioWare were toying with the idea of a huge boss fight with him but later abandoned it).

However, your right about the rest as it was poorly executed and actually leaves more questions then it answers. As I said above, feels they ran out of time and quickly cobbled together an ending.

I liked the end boss fight in ME2, and without one ME3 just seemed like a very anticlimatic - ending aside - but more so because a lot of people were expecting at some point - seemingly the end - to fight HARBINGER!!! the guy is the antagonist of ME2 and who made the reapers seem cool and we dont even get a chance to whoop his ass.

Maybe Bioware felt they couldnt come up with a scenario where we could plausibly defeat harbinger, although they were creative enough to come up with a thrashermaw taking one on so I dont think a lack of creativity can be blamed here. It was a pretty bad omission to build him up then not have him in it other than to shoot some lasers...

Still not started this yet, I hadn't yet refinshed my perfect playthrough of ME2 when it arrived on Friday. Finally got around to doing it, only to hit the face import bug :@ (If you transfered a game from ME1 to 2, you can't import the face into ME3!)

Until Bioware fix this, I can't play it. I can't get a custom shepard to look anything like my character and I lose the scars as well. (I kept them on purpose)

Seems like a silly reason not to play it, but for me it's as jarring as a character in a film being recast.

Trying so so hard to avoid spoilers in the meantime tho, but the whole internet is out to get me :p

In this case, I'm glad my main character is the default dude! He imported just fine. My secondary character is a completely customized fem-Shep starting from ME1 but she had a bit of a nip/tuck in ME2. I'll import her and see what happens.

I'm also dodging spoilers here! Let the game speak for itself, etc...

You might be able to get around the import issue by viewing the character code in ME2 and when importing the char in ME3, manually input the face code.

Nope, that wouldn't work, you would just import the 'default' face.

However if you _slightly_ edited the character from the ME1 > ME2 import, the face should import into ME3 correctly ..or rather, it worked for me

All I ever wanted was to meet

Harbenger, the man, the Reaper himself

in person.

*Sigh*

This can give you some closure, at least it is better than what Bioware did anyway. Warning. Endgame spoilers: http://arkis.deviantart.com/art/Mass-Effect-3-Alternate-Endings-SPOILERS-289902125

Damn. As it says in the comments. Assuming there is no prequel/sequel DLC that ending is now canon for me.

Playing the game enjoying it so far. Seeing the old ME1 characters and hearing the background music on the Citadel was a wonderful return to the familiar.

Glad I finally got to help that guy on the Presidium get his refund for that Omni-gel converter. Been like 3 years he's trying to get that thing  .

ssd died :( have to wait until my new one arrives to start playing it again (bought a mushkin).

word of advice, never buy an OCZ, just don't do it. no matter how tempting the price is.

Oddly enough, I've personally seen g.skill and intel SSDs cause trouble (3 g.skill have died, and they refused to replace it last time because the warranty from my original date of purchase finally expired, 2 intels have died and they have replaced it both times), but I've had my OCZ SSD for 3 years (maybe a bit longer) and never had a single issue with it.....it's so old it's a Gen 1 and it still works fine.

i wish i had your ocz luck... my ssd lasted 8 months. everything i have read online saying that ocz's have a solid reputation of dying, wish i knew that BEFORE i bought the thing.

If you tweaked her during character creation in ME2, then you'll be ok. It's *only* if you imported her untouched from ME1. Bioware have said it's because ME2 doesn't bother generating a facecode if you import from ME1, rather it stores it differently. Hense why it's borked.

I've tried using the workarounds suggested on Biowares forum for now, but I can't get it looking anything like my character. Also she's missing the renegade scars that I purposely kept in ME2, something importing usually keeps.

How it was missed during Q&A I have no idea. If it wasn't, I have no idea why they thought people would be ok with it, considering a big part of the series is the ability to keep your character across all three games
