The poor folks got carried away, I hope that their names are not made public, they just got caught up in the moment.

8-3 thats a freakin tradgedy.

But reaching for a ball is a reflex and anyone who says different is just full of crap or has never been to a ball game.

/me crosses fingers for game 7, Florida must be defeated http://www.blaise.us/emots/hands.gif

this was not "a ball game"

i may not live long enough to see this happen again. been waiting 26 yrs.

that fact just makes my point more correct, they were caught up in it.

Don't give up hope though, in Game 7..you'll see people falling over eachother to get out of the way of the ball :p

under any other circumstances for any other team other than maybe the red sox i would agree with you. ive been to numerous ball games and i am well aware of the desire to get a baseball. however, when you assume the responsibility of a front row seat in any game, youve got to pay more attention than the other fans and let the players play the game. especially when its the playoffs, especially when your team is the chicago cubs, and especially when they are 5 OUTS FROM THE WORLD SERIES! i dont want to hear any excuses for this guy, he has got to be aware of the situation and he remember what is at stake here and let alou make the play. i am furious at this guy and im not even a cubs fan. i can only imagine what many cubs fans would do if they could get their hands on him. he was escorted out of the park for his own safety by security guards after being drenched in beer by the surrounding fans. i hope for this guys safety and i hope this doesnt ruin his passion for baseball, but there's no excuse for that.

i dunno what to say

i dunno what to do

i got on the train with a 3-0 lead

i was in shock when i saw my gf's face when she picked me up.

i'm still in shock.

i can't describe what i feel right now.

15+ years i've waited for this day.

year after year, i said "there's always next year!"

i never thought we'd get this close. i didn't even care about winning that much. it was just about staying a fan, no matter how hard it got. it was about watching the games with other cubs fans, always trying to be positive.

please wake me up from this nightmare...

hang in there man, i may not know what its like to wait that long for a world series, but i sure know the disappointment of losing in the playoffs, hey youve still got tomorrow..hopefully the cubbies will still pull it off.. if theres a manager who can calm these guys down, its dusty..

but if the cubs lose tomorrow, that fan's life is ruined

thats a great pic.. man if they lose this game tonight, that guy will never hear the end of that.. or he may not be around long to hear anything

I got so sick of hearing about that damn fan today. All the Cubs fans were whining and crying because that guy lost them the game. Sure that was one factor, but did that guy give up 8 runs? Did that guy make an error on a ground ball? Did that guy give up a double with 2 outs and a man on second? 'Nuff said.

    • OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT memory by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT's memory, making the system more capable, current, and scalable across long-term use. Memory allows ChatGPT to remember useful details about users, including their preferences, projects, and constraints. Instead of starting every conversation from scratch, ChatGPT can use this context to provide more relevant responses in future chats. OpenAI first launched saved memories in February 2024. That feature allowed users to explicitly ask ChatGPT to save information into its memory, such as travel plans or writing preferences. However, this system had limits because it depended heavily on users giving clear instructions to remember something. Additionally, saved memories could become stale over time. In April 2025, OpenAI expanded memory by allowing ChatGPT to reference past chat context outside the saved memories list. This was powered by a background process called “dreaming,” which automatically curates memories from chat history. This made ChatGPT better at learning from natural conversation without requiring users to manually save every detail. Today, OpenAI announced a more capable and compute-efficient memory architecture built on top of dreaming. This new system improves ChatGPT’s ability to carry forward useful context, follow user preferences, and remain accurate as time passes. According to OpenAI’s internal evaluations, the new system improves factual recall from 67.9% in 2025 to 82.8% in 2026. Preference adherence improves from 55.3% to 71.3%, while accuracy over time improves from 52.2% to 75.1%. The best part of this new system is a new memory summary page where users can review ChatGPT's memories. Users can even update details, correct information, or give instructions on what topics ChatGPT should bring up and when. This new, improved memory system is available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users in the US starting today. It will roll out to more countries, as well as Free and Go users, in the coming weeks.
