Never have figured out why anyone would want all those widgets/gadgets or what ever the hell they're called, on their desktops. Looks horrible and makes things look cluttered as hell, to me. I mean, who needs an extra clock or temperature gauge on there. There's already a clock in the bottom right corner of your window, in case you didn't know? As far as weather apps, is your connection that slow you can't simply click a bookmark link to your favorite weather site and be there in a split second?

Anyway, here's my very simple desktop. Hasn't changed in months. In fact, most of the time I don't usually even have a wallpaper. I mean, how often do you actually set there and look at that?!

we like to have our info at a glance, saves us time. kinda like the live tiles in w8 do. it's cool cause they got inspiration from rainmeter. I love rainmeter!

Screenie after a fresh install. I think I'm staying away from fancy visual styles and Rainmeter from now on, it seems too played out.

So I give you Rocket Dock and a changed start button!

    • How backwards can you have it? Yes, Linux was gaining because of Linux handhelds and the push for gaming compatibility, but that's not desktop users, it barely converts anyone who owns a SteamDeck, though it helps for those who wanted to do it, but anyways, the AI+RAM debacle helped Linux because people can't easily upgrade their PCs easily and many hate AI so they'd be incentivized to try Linux.
    • 🤦🏻‍♂️ No, expected because 10 EOL
    • Dude, it's a .reg away from a permanent modification. If you're a power user, look it up and keep the .reg and stop being a crybaby expecting MS to include customization for everything on a generalist OS. The default is what's the best UX for the majority of the userbase, non techie people.

It lets you map specific actions and shortcuts to speed things up, and Logitech has such a device for you with a big 20% discount. Right now, you can save $40 on the Logitech MX Creative Console. The MX Creative Console is an unconventional accessory that consists of two modules. One module has nine customizable buttons, with each having a built-in display for mapping. You can assign apps, shortcuts, actions, or something else. There are nine buttons, plus two more for switching between "pages" of actions. The second module has no displays. Instead, there is a big twisting knob and a small roller for precise adjustments in creative apps like Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity, and more. There are four additional buttons as well. The MX Creative Console is available in two colors: Graphite and Pale Gray. Both are now 20% off, saving you $40. Just keep in mind that the MX Creative Console requires the Logitech Options+ app, which is only available on Windows and macOS. By the way, each unit comes with three months of Adobe Creative Cloud.
