This is a really cool hook for IPB That gives instant notifications and even puts the number in the title bar like facebook does!

I think it would be cool to have here

I installed it on an IPB forum I run and it's pretty cool.

Have you tried it? It's really easy to install.

It's a good idea, but we are on 3.2 so it isn't compatible.

aww man :-( when are you planning to upgrade? or is that like the worst question ever right now? *ducks* LOLOLOL

It is really nice and works very fast.... not much effort to install... upload to FTP to the specified directory then put in the xml file in the ACP where you should put it and there you go. Modding IPB is so easy.

ATM there are no plans to upgrade IPB ;) I can't really say much more than that at this time.

okiez, understood. upgrading can be a pain.

I know there's a really funny hook where you can have animated trucks for the sharing icons...

Im just gunna say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

But if something can be added (maybe one of the programmers can hack the code and incorporate it into the site, without upgrading the site itself as a whole?) then im all for it. ^_^

Little things like the notifications add a nice personal touch I think. I just don't want another week without Neowin like the 3.3 move, that was just... painful :o

I don't know how your skin is set, but the only thing that would be majorly effected by an upgrade to 3.3 would be your skin

That's the big problem that keeps being mentioned. Seems with every new IPB release they have to redo the skin.

Pretty much, and its never just tiny tweaks. Always something major... its really a pain in the arse to manage (IPB)

You DO NOT WANT VBULLETIN. Very unoptimized and the updates break way more then IPB does. the move from 3.x to 4.x broke so much and it totally infuriated many a admin.

The ACP in VB is the worst of all the forum engines. Not to mention it also looks like something from the 80's. LOL. IPB's ACP is the smoothest and it's extremely easy.

Many actually switched to IPB instead of moving from 3.x to 4.x

ATM there we are working on our own system to replace IPB ;) I can't really say much more than that at this time.

Fixed it for you ;)

I hope we move to VBulletin or something. I don't care much for IPB.

Don't they have enough problems already...

      It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.

      After I installed those, my older but capable Win 11 laptop (16GB RAM) reported it as 26H2 26300.8697. Then I installed it on my big laptop (128GB RAM! Hehe sorry), it reported it as 25H2 26220.8690. Ugh. Do I have to switch Insiders channels from Release to Beta?
