Alexa ranks Neowin as "very slow".

Recommended Posts

91% of sites are faster than Neowin.

Don't I know it. Gotta feed those hamsters, guys.

Or, take Dave and Redmak to a nice dinner. :)

There are a lot of other very interesting stats.

To be fair a lot of that slowness is due to Facebook.

In fact.... I think you can definitely see the culprit here. Neowins code is actually quite quick.

Ahhh, but Facebook is the future! Everything must be linked to Facebook now, if you're not linked, you're bound to die a slow death.... Or be connected and slowly stay alive...

Anyway, YES, Neowin is slow and it's annoying. Other site are also connected on Facebook and are not THAT slow.

Define slow

I know we had some issues past 2 months but those should have been fixed 2 weeks ago. Plus alexa stats you can take for a grain of salt.

Neowin never really feels fast. posting especially is very slow. but when I occasionally check the site at 5-6 in the morning (CET) when I get up to drive my GF to work, it's not been just slow lately, it's been almost standing still, clicking a thread it's taking forever before it even begins loading. later in the day, back to normal speed.

Usually when the site is loading slow ish, it's google that's in the status bar holding it up, google and their stats crap.

Well I've randomly, for the past 2-3 months up to yesterday, hiccups, pages don't load, post don't go through, "edit" post won't open, etc.

Theres two types of slow, the actually site itself being slow (huge images, javascript, flash etc), and then network/performance issues.

Also the facebook stuff while it does hold up the loading of the site, most people have those cached, so its not too bad. But our ad providers sure do loooove to put in a ton of js crap :(

Just do a google pagespeed test on the main page you'll see what i mean.

    • It's expensive, but I bet it will still sell out just like the Steam Deck and the Steam Controller
    • This is listed as a preview in WU for me. I usually don't grab them as previews; what's your opinion on it so far?
