It doesn't matter on what settings you'll run the game, it still won't look as detailed.

Here's a comparison between the settings (low, ultra and everything in between): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2mJaYQhaYc

I think it looks great. My only concern is AA. If i am to believe this video the game supports some form of post processing AA only. This will be a major disappointment if true.

well, as someone said before i hope there will be a mod.     because it the video above is true, setting to ultra adds bugger all to the experience :(

I won't say it looks horrible, that would be a lie, but the downgrades are VERY apparent.

I'm still shocked CDPR went the Sony and Watch Dogs deception route with the weak console hardware.

They would have known this 2 years ago when that trailer showed.

I think I'm going to cancel as I can't support these deceptive practices in the gaming industry anymore. Enough is enough.

I'll rebuy when there's an enhanced edition that goes beyond the console power or I see a mod that makes it look like it should.

Don't preorder in general. It supports hype driven failures.

Also the system requirements are too high.

If it is feature parity with consoles than it should run on equal hardware to consoles.

Wouldn't be surprised if its been moved forward a bit, street dates been broken all over the place.

I don't know, I sort of see the downgrade thing from all perspectives.  The low specs of the next gen consoles put devs in mid development in a bit of a bind where you either have to create 2 different products or create to the lowest denominator and then build out for the pc later.

To play on ultra already has some pretty big requirements so I can only imagine the small % of people that would have actually experienced all the detail of the original vision.  When resource choices have to be made you got to look at who your markets are.

Plus its the Witcher series...we all know an Enhanced Edition will roll out next year with an updated engine and bells and whistles for pc.

Lastly, the dollars this game makes will speak for itself its going to sell a tonne of copies post launch and post this downgrade so that says about how much consumers either a) care or b) the value they put on premium graphics vs good gameplay.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the latest Nvidia GameWorks news regarding the game. While I know Nvidia are ###### of the highest order, I'm very disappointed CDP went with them knowing the conditions.

It's hard to be surprised by NV being ###### after PhysX.  A lot of devs just don't care though.

I love when game companies optimize their games for my GPU line. This is good news.

Not directed specifically to you PD, but to everyone in this thread complaining about "downgrades":

How is it "deceptive" if these changes were revealed weeks before launch? There is plenty of information and videos out there to view prior to the game's release. (it still hasn't released yet!) Therefore, every potential buyer has/had plenty of opportunity to make an educated decision as to whether this game lives up to their own personal, arbitrary standard. Release Date review embargoes, intentionally misleading press materials, and sponsored fluff pieces are deceptive behavior. None of which CDPR engaged in. So how can you justify calling it "deceptive"?

Things change in development all the time, and not just in games. That is nature of development. You have a goal in mind when a project starts, and things get stripped or modified as the project progresses and the time/money-cost/benefit ratios change. If you don't understand that, then I would suggest you stop following pre-release software in general or else you're going to be continually disappointed.

As long as CDPR didn't try to hide the fact that things changed before customers purchased the game (hint: they didn't), then you have nothing to complain about.

And as others have said, stop pre-ordering games. It's pointless in today's market, and it reinforces awful preorder/dlc practices. If you for some reason can't control yourself and have to preorder, then do it from a place that doesn't charge you the full amount until you actually get the item. (or it ships, if it's online) That way you can cancel your preorder at the last minute if you must.

it is midnight by polish time.   so it is 8pm, in north american eastern time.   even earlier in pacific.

5 hours left!

NOW I AM SUPER MAD AT THEM.       I got GOG Galaxy, and since I preloaded it always told me a specific time the game will release.

as i said 1.5 hours ago, it was showing me 5 hours!   (i am in canada on eastern time)

i just logged it to search for something else, and now GOG Galaxy is showing me 10 hours. WTF?!   i have to sleep in 10 hours.

i cancelled my evening plans to get 5 hours of gaming in, since i have a busy week and i wanted to get a good start at it today

EDIT: it was a bug in Galaxy client.

I don't and and it's bad news for everyone, including owners of older (like the first Titan) Nvidia cards. Read the articles.

Omg your old GPU is terrible at a new game. What a surprise, the shock, the horror.

Omg your old GPU is terrible at a new game. What a surprise, the shock, the horror.

you are being silly now.  because you happen to have a gpu it is optimized for...

it is not just a old GPU.     it is ANY GPU outside of 9 series.    no matter how well they compare in specs.   but whatever.  you could not care less i see.

if you bought top of the line nvidia gtx780 just before 9 series were released, you would understand better, i bet

edit: GOG Galaxy client just updated.  now it says "waiting for release"

i guess it was a bug, Galaxy is in beta so...

3 more hour to play it.

i wonder if the site will be HAMMERED by everyone on pc wanting the patch.    witcher 3 has quite a following.

    • Threads scales past half a billion users, brings deeper community and feed controls by Fiza Ali Meta has announced Threads crossing a major milestone of 500 million monthly active users. And, at the heart of this growth sits something simple: communities. From books to basketball, parenting to music, Threads says its rise has been powered by people clustering around shared interests and, in turn, giving the platform its identity. In response, the platform is expanding its Communities feature beyond beta and introducing a set of new tools designed to make participation easier and more engaging. A redesigned Communities Hub will now appear in the main navigation menu, allowing users to jump between groups without leaving their feed. Each community will also receive a distinct Community Icon, giving them clearer visual identity and making them easier to recognise across the platform. Then there’s Community Progress, which is a kind of live gauge showing how close a topic is to becoming a full-fledged community, alongside guidance on how users can contribute to its development. In addition, Meta is also expanding its Community Champions programme, recognising more users who actively contribute to community engagement. And then things go more local; Local Communities is already available in 100 countries, including North America, South America, Asia, and Europe but are now rolling out with native-language tags starting in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. The platform is also expanding Live Chats to more communities in the coming weeks, adding features such as co-hosting and the ability to quote moments directly into users’ feeds. Beyond communities, Meta is tightening the loop between users and their feeds. Earlier this year came "Dear Algo," a feature that lets people tell Threads what they want more or less of. Now it’s being paired with a new tool, "Your Algo." It allows people to adjust how frequently certain topics appear, with options lasting one, three, or seven days. Meta says these preferences remain private and can be managed alongside “Dear Algo” in a unified settings hub. The rollout begins in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Finally, the company says these changes are part of an ongoing effort to refine Threads based on user feedback and that further updates will continue as the platform evolves.
    • You pay just $100 per TB with this rare 4TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD deal by Sayan Sen SSDs and GPUs are incredibly hard to get nowadays due to high pricing. Discounts are quite rare which is why we report on them as soon as we spot a good deal. For example AMD's new 9070 GRE was finally up for sale at a very good price of just $500 thanks to a special coupon. Sadly that deal is gone but if you happen to be looking for a 4TB NVMe SSD and can spend around $400 there is a really good offer on sale that you should not miss out on as TeamGroup's 4TB G50 model is on sale for that that price which means you are only paying $100 per TB, a very good deal in the current market (purchase link under the specs table down below). The TeamGroup T-FORCE G50 NVMe SSD is a PCIe Gen4 drive and as such it promises to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s, helping accelerate game loading, file transfers, and everyday computing tasks. Since this is a 4TB drive you can use it for a gaming library to take advantage of things like DirectStorage. The SSD features an InnoGrit controller and SLC caching technology to support consistent performance. An ultra-thin, patented graphene heatsink is included to aid in heat dissipation. Get it at the link below: Team Group T-FORCE G50 4TB Internal SSD (TM8FFE004T0C129): $449.99 + $50 off w/ promo code SSF69668, limited offer => $39.99 (Sold and Shipped by Newegg US) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified. • I agree. I also think Phil stayed too long. They should definitely fire whoever thought all a console platform needed was Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, and Fallout to survive. Asha and crew are still saying they need more Elder Scrolls and Fallout games. They simply don't get it.
