Hi,

So i tried Windows 8 since its launched, now its annoyed me so much that i am just installing Windows 7 again. For the people that tried it and went back to Windows 7 can you please let me know your reasons?

Thanks

Richard

I agree. My couch computer also got down graded. My main system with start8 is fine, but metro is completely useless / worthless. Dispite what people say Metro is more clicks. Just wanted to get that in before this thread gets locked in 3..............2..........................1. :)

Does it really matter? You had your reasons. More power to ya.

Btw, there must be a thousand Windows 8 threads on Neowin. You should have no trouble finding opinions, pro & con, by doing a search.

I have to agree, better than turning into into another boring long thread of views which are just peoples choices. And to me as long as we have a choice, that's all that matters. :)

@OP

Tried Windows 8, downgrades to windows 7.

The constant flipping between the Desktop and Metro apps was bothering me.

Taking 5-6 steps where on Windows 7 it took 2-3 steps on a lot of things.

The metro apps are not as full featured or useful as there desktop versions.

Only one metro app full screen open at a time.

I don't hate Windows 8, I just dislike it.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
