If iOS is installed and is fully operational, then yes, but it's impossible if your iPhone "Needs to be activated".

Unless I missed something.

Very nice little addition in Mavericks when using "Edit > Insert Special Character".

One-window interface FTW.

If only they could fix the Fonts Pane and the color pane now !

I think the playlists icon has changed in the Music app. Beyond that, haven't noticed too many changes yet.

Here's how you can watch Apple's WWDC 2020 keynote
      by Rich Woods

Today, Apple is kicking off WWDC, its annual developer conference where it shows off what's coming over the next year. The keynote is where you can always expect to see what's coming in the next major updates for iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, and macOS.

As usual, the keynote will be live-streamed, although this time, it can actually be streamed on YouTube. There are two other ways that you can watch it. The first is via the Apple Developer app, which is limited to Apple's devices. The other way to watch it is through the Apple Developer website, which is what's available for everyone. The keynote is today, June 22, and it starts at 10am Pacific Time.

Along with iOS 14, iPadOS 14, watchOS 7, tvOS 14, and macOS 10.16, Apple is expected to announce that it's ditching Intel processors in its Mac lineup. If that happens, the firm will move to its own custom ARM processors, similar to what it's already been using in iPhones and iPads. This type of processor allows for better battery life with its big.LITTLE architecture, and of course, Apple wouldn't have to rely on Intel anymore.

As for what else might be announced, that's anyone's guess. It's not beyond Apple to announce new hardware at its developer show, but it's also not a hardware show. We'll find out in a few hours.

Update: This article was updated with YouTube information.

Apple's virtual WWDC will be held starting on June 22
      by Rich Woods

Back in March, Apple confirmed that this year's WWDC conference will be an online-only event, thanks to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Today, the Cupertino firm announced the starting date, and the event will kick off on June 22. Apple says that it will be free for all developers, although it's not actually clear if this is limited to those with an Apple Developer subscription. We've reached out to Apple for clarification on that.

"WWDC20 will be our biggest yet, bringing together our global developer community of more than 23 million in an unprecedented way for a week in June to learn about the future of Apple platforms," said Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "We can’t wait to meet online in June with the global developer community and share with them all of the new tools we’ve been working on to help them create even more incredible apps and services. We look forward to sharing more details about WWDC20 with everyone as we get closer to this exciting event."

Schiller wasn't kidding about sharing more details later, as there still isn't a lot. Details about events and sessions won't be available till June, and Apple hasn't even said how long the event will be. Typically, WWDC is a five-day event, but things are different this year.

One thing that you can expect to hear about at WWDC 2020 is the next major software updates from Apple. The main keynote is always where it showcases the next versions of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS, and tvOS. Following the keynote, developer betas should be available as well.

Apple announces new measures to tackle Covid-19
      by Paul Hill

Yesterday, Apple announced that it would be holding its annual developer conference online instead of inviting people to its campus. The firm has now announced further measures to tackle the deadly disease. The measures include matching employee donations to fight the disease, store closures outside of Greater China until March 27, and more.

One of the measures that Apple will implement is a donation matching programme. To assist in the elimination of Covid-19, Apple has so far donated $15 million worldwide, now it will also match any donations made by its employees to assist in response efforts locally, nationally, and internationally.

Many countries have now begun implementing social distancing strategies to encumber the spread of the coronavirus. To further these efforts, Apple is closing its retail stores outside of Greater China until March 27. The firm encourages people to use its online store if they want to purchase items from the company.

In its offices, employees will be moved onto flexible work arrangements outside of Greater China, they will be allowed to work from home if their job allows for it. While people are out of the offices, Apple will continue to deep clean all of its office spaces to further inhibit the spread of the disease. Additionally, it’s rolling out health screenings and temperature checks to ensure people are healthy.

Hourly workers will continue to receive payments in alignment with business as usual operations and leave policies have been adjusted to accommodate personal or family health circumstances created by Covid-19 such as recovering from the illness, helping sick relatives, mandatory quarantining, and issues around childcare.

As of 2018, Apple had 123,000 full-time employees. With these new measures, transmission rates could be lowered wherever there are high concentrations of Apple employees.

Aside from taking WWDC online, Apple has also released a new Covid-19 section on the Apple News app; this will help you keep up with all the latest information about the disease.
