Man of Steel sequel to feature Batman (and others) (2016)

See Avengers...... all your favorite superhero movies in the same movie...

I did see Avengers. It was alright I guess, but forgettable. I just have never really cared for superhero mashups, it's like it's just done for the sake of it. I am holding my breath that Snyder will make it work.

Also a storyboard frame has leaked:

A bit fuzzy, but this is the logo from the announcement outside of a video, and there are rumors that somewhere in the MoS arc we'll see Kara Zor-El - Supergirl.

Rationale: her appearance in the prequel comic and the empty pod in the Fortress in MoS.

Seen that logo yesterday. It's pretty cool how Batman's symbol kind of looks like the one Batman used on his suit in Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns". It would be pretty cool to see Kara in the MoS movie series.

It's on the front page :p I am sure they will officially release it soon in all its HQ glory

Either that or it's based off the one from the Adama West series.

Wow, you must be really against this whole idea :p Because there's no way that they'd go that route. There wasn't any Superman in Adam West's series anyways.

No doubt it'll be good, just more evidence to the fact that Superman cant carry itself

Huh? Man of Steel, like it or not is gonna make over $700 Million worldwide. How is it Superman can't carry his own film?

The Dark Knight Returns logo has near vertical sides - very squareish. This logos upper 75% looks very much like the 1942 movie serial logo but with fewer points along the lower edge and no rib detail. Looks like they did a mashup of previous logos.

I love seeing stuff like that. You could hear the people who knew where the line was from, and then the logo popped up (then batman's logo after) and the crowd literally sounded like they would cause a phase shift in the space time continuum that would wipe out every universe ever created by comics. Yeah.

Amazing news. For some reason, I thought they announced another movie after Man of Steel 2 that would feature Batman. It didn't occur to me that they were talking about Man of Steel 2 as the movie to feature him. It'll be interesting because they may introduce Lex Luthor too. Someone on Reddit mentioned a bidding war between Wayne Enterprises and LutherCorp over the Daily Planet building.

I don't see Bale coming back...unless he plans on doing a JLA film, but I'd count him out.

It's pure speculation, and a bit of fan fiction, but my guess will be that LexCorp and Wayne Enterprises pool their resources together to come up with ways to handle the alien in case he steps out of line. Or they could compete for the same defense contract. I mean, we'll find out what happens when they release the film, but that's my guess.

If they use elements from the dark knight returns in MoS2 then Bale coming back as batman would be the best way to do it instead of introducing someone new.  But who knows, I watched that video posted above and go pumped up as well.   I think Superman can do his own film fine, it's just that there's only so many bad guys that can translate to a good movie, Zod is kinda one of them but honestly I think the best ones to use for a MoS movie would be doomsday and Darkseid.    Now I think the best one for a JL movie would be Darkseid because he has an army to use.   I'd do doomsday for a MoS3 if I was in charge, would be a good way to end it if it's also going to be a trilogy.

Oh dear....

If you're excited by this you have no imagination...kinda like the person who came up with this idea.

Coming in 2015 the brand new series. "How I Big Banged Your Mother" with Sheldon Cooper and Lily Aldrin (non pornographic version)

Imagination has nothing to do with it, the MoS2 movie will have it's own thing, they just used the best, well known, line from the dark knight returns comic to let fans know that, yes, batman is coming back to the big screen.  Putting him in MoS2 is the best way to lead up to a future Justice League movie.   It's always Superman and Batman that come together first, then the other heroes join in.   And honestly, I don't think making a Flash or Wonder Woman movie before a JL movie will have the returns WB would like to see.

IMO it'd be better to do a JL movie and then after you've introduced flash and WW you can think about doing their own movies, unless WB wants another GL on it's hands.  It's just one or two heroes the fans like more than the rest, for Marvel, aside from spiderman, they like Iron Man the best.  If there was no Iron Man in Avengers it NEVER would've made as much money as it did.  RDJs Iron Man made that film, also why he's role is so important in it.   Hulk? meh.  Thor?  meh.   Captain America?  meh.

For DC it's the same thing, the fans like Batman the most, WB knows this and just having him in MoS2 means you'll make even more money, not that MoS flopped or anything, money wise.

^You're already proving how unimaginative you yourself are with that joke. The joke is kinda straightforward, anyone could've come up with that. Better luck next time though!

I meant the one on his suit though which looks kinda different :p

I can't believe everyone wants to see Bale back as Batman. Have you guys forgotten what happened at the end of "The Dark Knight Rises"? If they'd bring Bale back now, they'd ruin that ending for sure. Of course he wad dead in the comics for awhile and came back, but the ending of "The Dark Knight Rises" is different to be honest. It would ruin the idea Nolan had behind Batman's cowl. That it's just a mask, a symbol that everyone could wear.

For me, the Nolan Batman universe ended with "The Dark Knight Rises" and they're setting up a new film universe for the Justice League. They'll introduce a new actor to play Batman in "Man of Steel 2" and have that same actor play Batman in the upcoming reboot.

Errr this was announced years ago?

Has no one seen "I am Legend" in a scene Will smith walks past a building which displays a possible Batman/superman cross over film. At the time I assumed this to be fictional, but with this news I can see I was wrong.

Christan Bale and Henry Cavil have to be the heroes.  ....... if its someone else ...

SDCC: HIGH-QUALITY LOGO FOR WARNER BROS.' "SUPERMAN/BATMAN" SURFACES ONLINE

Comic-Con International attendees felt Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's hands at their collective throat on Saturday, when it was announced that "Man of Steel" was officially green-lit for a sequel -- a sequel co-starring Gotham's Caped Crusader.

The Batman is joining forces with Superman in the untitled "Man of Steel" follow-up, directed by Zack Snyder with a story co-written by Snyder and David Goyer. Along with the movie announcement, an official logo was released at Comic-Con, and what appears to be a hi-res version of that very same art has surfaced online via the website Nerd Reactor.

    • I am not a US citizen nor a Trump fan. Respect to both left and right. But I will, for the sake of fun, predict something for my own. There will come a day when the US and China will collide like titans ( over Taiwan or anything else ). Then, on that day, some people in this comment section will realize how good an idea it was to become independent in areas like that. ( Or atleast try )
    • Microsoft Edge gets tons of security features, including AI model that can see your screen by Usama Jawad Microsoft Edge may not be the most popular browser out there, but it does receive quite frequent updates that sometimes bring surprising new features and axe others that are not as popular. Now, Microsoft has detailed some of the new security enhancements that it has introduced in Edge for Business, typically used by commercial customers. Microsoft has emphasized that security features are baked into Edge for Business and offer native integration with security and governance tools like Defender and Purview. Browser sessions are governed by default on managed devices but can also be governed through dedicated work profiles on unmanaged devices. An important aspect in this area is controlling the use of shadow AI. We have talked about this before, but it essentially restricts employees from using unsanctioned AI apps through data loss prevention (DLP) policies, with Edge redirecting them to trusted AI services like Microsoft 365 Copilot. This feature, available as a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) license, ensures that confidential data never exits AI boundaries set by your organization in Purview. Additionally, Microsoft also has strong DLP policies for contractors. Contractors leveraging a Entra ID-joined work profile provisioned by their contracting company on a device managed by their actual employer can be restricted from downloading files locally. In such scenarios, the file is saved on the contracting firm's OneDrive rather than being downloaded locally. Another useful Edge security feature disallows copying and pasting from unmanaged locations and apps. Similarly, DLP policies can be configured at a granular level to restrict screenshots or downloading of files from certain locations. In the same vein, IT admins can block the installation of extensions, hosted apps, themes and scripts, and control if users can install extensions from external locations. They can also enable the installation of specific extensions and allow users to request access to certain extensions, so that they can be managed on a case-by-case basis. Finally, Edge for Business now has an on-device AI model that uses computer vision to see what's on your screen and block potentially malicious content immediately. This does not rely on site reputation, as it simply monitors what is being displayed on your screen, which means that it is effective against malicious content that takes over your screen and employs scareware tactics. Since this is an on-device AI model, it does use your system's resources, so it's enabled by default only on devices with at least 2GB of RAM and four CPU cores. You can find more details in the Microsoft Mechanics video here.

    • Linux 7.2's first release candidate gets off to a good start by Paul Hill Credit: Larry Ewing It has been a few weeks since the release of Linux 7.1, and in that time, the Linux 7.2 merge window has been open, where developers can submit their features and patches ready for the upcoming release. That window is now shut, and the release candidate phase has begun so that new features can be tested and further fixes applied. According to the founder of Linux, Linus Torvalds, this week’s release candidate looks “reasonably normal”. Although we are super early in the release candidates, this is a good sign as it makes it more likely that an eighth release candidate will not be needed. Torvalds even mentioned that the update’s stats are only larger than they really are because there was another AMD header drop with a third of the patch just being AMD GPU register definitions, which aren’t big changes but make the code contributed look larger overall. In addition to this, he noted that just over half the patch is drivers, even when excluding the AMD register dump. The rest of the changes are spread out over architecture updates, tooling, documentation, and core kernel updates. In the next week, Torvalds says that he will be chilling out, taking the week “mostly off”. Despite this, he will be reading emails and keeping up with things, so if he is slow responding, now you know why. He said he is hoping for a calm week, but we will just have to see if the second release candidate is actually like that. We should expect seven or eight release candidates before Linux 7.2 is released, so expect it around the end of August. If you missed it a few weeks ago, be sure to check out our coverage of Linux 7.1's release.
    • Ridiculous claim that the labor cost difference of $6000 annually would increase cost per phone by $200. The employees produce 3 phones per month or what?
