[general] AutoPatcher XP for other languages

Recommended Posts

5. You're doing good so far :)

(...)

Also, If you're going to translate the UI, look under \translations folder. Open 1033.lng (english translation) with notepad and translate.

Thanks! :)

And i've already translated that! (just having a little problem translating the EULA...)

I've allready changed the flag 1033 to 2070 (with Module Editor 2.0) in the .amc (hotfixes, messenger, .NET, ..)...

I'm not having much time to dedicate to AutoPatcher (at least for now), but i would like "to do" a Lite version of AutoPatcher...

By the way, some hotfixes don't have a page translated to Portuguese, so i just changed the flag to 2070 and the link to the file xxxxxxxx-ptg.exe...

If you want, i can send you the translation...

I send it because i didn't know if it was needed... I only "messed" with the .amc...

Oh, and by the way... The KB888240 is only in english... Can it be applied to Portuguese version, by changing the flag?

There are some problems when displaying some characters like: "?", "?", "?", and some others...

If that english patch applies to all languages, then yes, add the portugese flags.

About the character-rendering problems: Unfortunately, some controls can't cope with unicode. The treeview is one of them. If possible, replace them with ordinary ones.

kb834707.amc has an error in the installation part (you'll understand what i mean)

Well... replacing the "?", "?" is not a perfect solution, but if it's the only way... i'll do it...

Yes, i've found some strange characters in some flags in "Without Backups". I'll compare mine with the english ones...

I've sent you the modules with the flags corrected and the new 2070.lng...

Yes, of course that it is going to be shared when done! (Claro que sim! Fi-lo com o objectivo de instalar nos computadores de amigos e afins, mas decidi torna-lo p?blico):DD

I've sent the translations to nw_raptor, and i'm waiting that he sends me the files, in order that i could test it in a virtual machine, to see if i've made any error in the translation...

As you may have noticed, the characters "?", "?", "?", "?" are not going to be seen in the modules names and descriptions, but will be seen in the AutoPatcher interface:(. :(

Well, you may by all means continue with virtual machine tests with the unofficial modules (there is no problem installing unofficial modules). When you're ready for release, and wish to add an official stamp, you will have to mail me the whole thing (or put it somewhere so I can download it). Due to tight security, the module needs to be complete (as in, not only the .amc file).

I was trying to test only the ptg modules, but because they are unoffical, i will have to add one official, so the unofficial can be seen...

I'm going to try that in some moments.

When it's done, ill send you a download link.

Thanks for all the help. :)

No, i can't. And i can't even see them in Module Installer if there isn't one official module...

And when i try to run AP PTG with more than one module (no mather what module i choose), i get this error ... And whe i try with only one module, i get this error ...

    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • I have disabled it, but the app is still taking space. I have a Mac and it is only possible to disable Ai on that, but I think that bit does get rid of the AI components after a while. What we are told is that we agree to all this when we use the devices as it is in the end user agreements, their software, they can do what they like. I doubt that any bill will happen in the U.S, the government there are in league with big tech firms. The E.U maybe, they seem to have some guts when it comes to tech companies. The U.K is not in the E.U, but some things still affect us. Our government is as gutless when it comes to tech companies as the U.s government.
