Yeah I use filters sometimes depends on what I take picture of.

Black and white photos are great! I like B&W photos.

Beautiful downtown Rochester, NY. 7/12/14. :)

Really really like this... I tried to do some firework photography a while back without trying to actually read anything and went the complete wrong way and was trying far too fast shutter speeds and wondering why it didnt work. This is a fine example of how to do it properly and also helpful because you've posted the settings too.

Great example of how sticking the horizon dead centre can work, composition is spot on. Literally cannot praise this enough :)

Cheers Skiver, really appreciate the kind comments :)

Now that I've done a few fireworks displays, my advice would be to plan it out well in advance. Personally I like to pick a spot that shows something recognisable in the local area (as opposed to a generic fireworks shot that could have been taken anywhere).

Here's another from the same evening:

Got a new lens - Olympus 9mm f/8.0 Fisheye Body Cap Lens. Was still playing around with it in the last picture and got the focus all messed up, so I decided to not throw the picture out, but try to give it some character. Tried to make it look like it was taken with an old pinhole camera.

    • Your other comment in another article says otherwise, namely "Microsoft veteran wants to replace every single line of C/C++ code with Rust and AI".
    • Sued and... exonerated. Oh, they learned a lesson alright. They learned that anyone who uses the word "antiturst" in conjunction with "Microsoft" is an idiot, even if that person is Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson. That judge ruined the image of the US justice system. Microsoft Edge has a 5.14% market share. Also, Windows is no longer the #1 OS. None of this constitutes a monopoly. Google Chrome, however, has 70.25% share. Also, Google's Android is the #1 OS. Now that's closer to a monopoly.
