It seems like only Windows 8.1, Windows Phone 8.1, and Xbox One, but that's only what I've heard. There isn't a limit that I know of for them to support Windows 7. It seems like they are still debating on whether to support Windows 7.

You can add usage data snooping with a simple click in Visual Studio 2013 Update 2, and you can filter by region.

If it's out after next year (when WIndows 7 goes into extended support), you'll never see it for Win7.

Pretty much the same reasons why XP never got any loving after 2009. Microsoft isn't going to overly develop for operating systems working their way out the door.

My prediction is that Microsoft will partner with Valve.

They've announced many new titles on Steam, and bragged about Steam games during the Build intro video. Plus, they would want to slow down momentum for the Steambox.

E3 will show more PC gaming titles along with more about DirectX 12. It would be a perfect time for an announcement like that.

I don't think so, with all the crap Gabe Newell has said about Windows 8.

As for MS, it makes Windows be on top, since one of the selling points is that is has most of the games.

I'm assuming knowledge entity embedding will be available to any countries with the knowledge side bar.

Project Orleans is released. It is a new approach to building distributed high-scale computing applications. It's been in development since 2011. Halo 4 uses it.

 

There is an actor model which is based on a collection of entities called actors. All the actors are modeled in the actor model. The actor model and actor is like OOP, there is a set state of methods and parameters that the actor can mutate. Actors send asynchronous messages using proxies with no reference to other actors, which isolates actors so failures are not widespread. Actors are single threaded.

 

Project Orleans is based on .NET. It enhances scalability and productivity.

Gabe loves money more than he hates/dislikes/whatever W8. Just look at the amount of shovelware that has invaded Steam this year.

MS published some games on Steam in 2013/2014, but I don't see any big name games and I'm not sure any of them are made by an actual owned studio. The more popular of those are on Steam already so I think the deal is there. They even released that Halo game which might as well be casual by PC RTS standards.
