Just in case anyone is also experiencing this issue, it is apparently known.

It literally drove me crazy the past hour today (wish I Googled it first) and I have had to disconnect my cable box and run it straight to my receiver.

It is when you Watch TV through the One, you here a cracking (I believe it is called clipping) and mine was just incredibly annoying. Like every 2 seconds annoying. It was affecting basically all medium frequency sounds, so was primarily affecting my two front surround speakers.

Hope they fix it soon.

Yeah, I am also facing the same issue. As per their "issues" in the release notes they have fixed this and will release with the final version. This release is in the" known issues" section of preview dashboard

An 8.8 MB update has been released which removes the friend invite option from the registration app.

Closing this topic until it returns (if ever).

Edit: this is such a frickin' mess MS have created. If you have the Preview Dashboard app (not the Registration app), please confirm if you can still invite friends or not.

Can one leave this preview program if they want to? Is it as simple as just uninstalling the Preview App?

You have the option within the app to opt out of the program, and you can also set yourself back in the program, it appears.

Have not been able to confirm this for myself yet but a buddy of mine in an email said they actually removed the opt out and ability to invite people in the latest version of the Preview app. Will check it out when I get home unless someone can confirm it sooner than later (I just got to work, so a good 8-10 hours before I can check).

Would someone mind inviting me? It feels odd to not be a part of a Microsoft preview program! :) My gamertag is tlmii

Thanks!

Haha same! Fib3r did invite me but MS are taking their sweet time adding me, or they plain hate me :p

they haven't removed the ability to invite, or to opt out. I just checked in the preview dashboard app. they also released a fix yesterday that fixes the audio static issue for those who have it.

So you have the dashboard app with quests, submit feedback options etc, and you can invite?

Cause they've definitely removed the option from the registration app along with the opt out button. Happens regardless if you are on '08 or '09.

not registration app... don't worry about it.

check the option in the preview app.

Not everyone has access to it. See my post on the last page about MS screwing up the process even more than it already was.

Subnets within subnets of subnets

Yeah that's the dashboard app. Only a selection of testers have it (N)

Going to be even more upset if I am in that selection of testers that does not have it.

I want out of this program ASAP. Going to be the first thing I do when I get home.

Two updates in a row they messed up Watch TV for me.

If I lived on my own would not be a big deal.

If my mother did not come by my house everyday to let my dog out, it would not be a big deal.

But others rely on turning on the TV and it working in my household besides me, so I just want a stable easy experience.

If i can opt out I will.

If they fixed the audio cracking I may consider going back, but now I have to set up everything again as I had to reset it cause the One was still turning everything on and off even though I was not using it for TV, so probably just going to stick to it as I have it now.

weird, didn't know not everyone has it. I don't think ive ran into anyone on my friends list who I've invited who doesn't have it.

It's all over the forums, so definitely not a one off. Have a friend on '09 who only has the registration app too so not related to dash build.

Sooner we're all pushed to 09 now 08 is public, the better.

    • No updated SSD capacity, no updated specs (not surprised tbf), just nostalgia baiting! Bring back the boot sequence and the UI as an easter egg!
    • Why? It will just cost so much more and make you PC poor and they become PC rich off your calamities! “Just because you can” isn’t a flex either!.
    • Microsoft confirms a new, useful Teams' app is coming very soon by Sayan Sen In the modern digital workspace meeting recordings and summaries are very commonplace, still finding the right recap later can be surprisingly difficult. To address that inconvenience Microsoft is working on a new dedicated meeting recap application designed to bring all meeting recaps into a single, centralized location. In a recent announcement on its Microsoft 365 roadmap website, the company has confirmed the new applet and has explained how the new experience will work and why it believes it can help users stay on top of discussions without having to search through multiple chats, calendars, or files. For those unfamiliar, meeting recaps provide a summary of key discussions, decisions, action items, and other relevant information generated after a meeting ends. They are intended to help participants revisit important points while also allowing those who missed the meeting to quickly catch up on what happened. Traditionally locating older recaps could require users to navigate through various conversations or meeting histories. The new meeting recap app aims to simplify that process by gathering all available recaps into one dedicated hub. According to Microsoft, this should make it easier to browse past meetings, review outcomes, and stay informed about ongoing projects and discussions. One notable feature of the applet is the addition of quick filters which are meant to allow users to instantly narrow down the list of available recaps and surface specific meetings without manually searching through extensive records. Audio recap is also there. If you're wondering how long these recaps will last before self-expiring, the app will provide access to meeting recaps from the past 30 days or approximately one month. You can view the feature entry here on the official Microsoft 365 (M365) website under roadmap ID 564614. Its rollout is set to begin this month (June 2026). Do keep in mind though that new feature rollouts often get delayed.
    • Does it have couch co-op is the question I have here.
