How would one invite people to this? is it through the Xbox itself or can it be done on Xbox.com

it's on the Xbox itself through the preview app.

 

you have to send the person a friend request before you can sent an invite for the preview program.

 

I got nothin on my plate today so I'll throw a few bones around in the mean time

for the media playback, it's a preview app.

 

 Insert a USB hard drive or flash drive with a media file on it. The xbox will detect it and a banner comes up saying inspect drive. Hold xbox symbol and it will take you to the App Store to directly download the app. Seems like it is kind of hidden ATM. Mkv playback isn't working in it yet either. MP4 ran fine.

 

Hey all - I would definitely love to be on the preview program.  If someone could invite me, that would be awesome.

Does anyone know of any criteria to get into the program? I've tried to invite a couple friends and my brother but they haven't even gotten in. So I don't even bother offering to invite other people because apparently my invites are worthless

I'm wondering this as well. I've had a few people invite me but to no avail. I've been an Xbox Live member for 10 years, but apparently that doesn't factor into the equation.

I know that you don't get the invite instantly, but does anyone know how long it takes? 2 days or so? or?... Also, do you get the actual invite by email?

Depends on their queue. Or it could be next preview wave or two before you get in. 

 

You will be notified by a message on Xbox console. Probably email. If you are invited right away to join in.

      It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?

      Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?

      It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.

      What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
