Hi all,

A new preview of Dopamine v1.2 is available. This is the change log:

– [Added] Added a ‘Love’ button which can send ‘Love’ and ‘Unlove’ requests to Last.fm
– [Changed] Sorting by album on the Songs screen now respects the track order inside an album
– [Changed] Updated the Greek translation
– [Fixed] Fixed “Follow the Windows color”. It was broken since version 1.1.
– [Fixed] Fixed a bug where lyrics from MiniLyrics didn’t work because they’re using 2 digits for milliseconds instead of 3

You can download it over here.

Thanks again Raphael I use this every day to listen to my music while I'm coding myself :)

Much appreciated and fantastic work as always!

Thanks everyone. It means a lot to me that you appreciate my hard work :)

To celebrate this, yet another build was just released : 1.2 Build 769 (Preview)

This one fixes a bug and adds some small features which were requested by some users.

This is the change log:

– [Added] Added options to show a notification when pausing and resuming a song
– [Changed] The notification window now puts emphasis on the song title instead of the artist name
– [Fixed] Fixed a crash when Last.fm requests fail

I'm starting to prepare for the final 1.2 release. No big things will be added until 1.2 is out, to avoid new bugs.

Go grab it at the usual place

Ah, no. Lyrics are not automatically downloaded (Last.fm doesn't provide them). You have to right click the lyrics pane in now playing and add them there, or right click a song in one of the songs list, then choose "edit" and then choose the lyrics tab.

What file type are your tracks? Can you see their rating in Windows Explorer?

mp3s and m4a. I can see the ratings in windows explorer for the mp3s but not the m4as. I just did a reinstall to the 9 November build and still no ratings for any files.

Did you re-index your collection? (remove all collection folders, let Dopamine remove all tracks from the collection, then re-add your collection folders).

If you still have no ratings after that, I'd like one of those files (one mp3 and one m4a) to test out. For mp3 it should work. m4a might not be supported.

Did what you said. Still no ratings.

Would you mind sharing an affected mp3 and m4a file? I'd like to test them out. Over here it works for mp3, so I'm confused about what is going on. Could you also send me your log file?

Can you publish this to the Windows Store? That would be awesome and I would get it in a heartbeat because it'll will allow updates to come automatically and seamlessly!

You won't get it as long as it's not in the store? Updates are pretty seamless already, for a desktop application.

    • DXVK generally performs better on Linux (using Wine/Proton) than on Windows. Because Linux utilizes highly optimized, open-source Vulkan drivers (like RADV/ACO) that were specifically built for AMD Radeon hardware, the translation of Direct3D 9/11 to Vulkan is highly efficient. But if you take the trouble to watch my video, you can see that there are also advantages for Nvidia users. You see that I run Assassin's Creed Odyssey on 4GB RAM and on an i3-3240. What do you think are the minimum system requirements for windows11? For CPU-based rendering, Linux is generally faster than windows11 by about 15% due to lighter background overhead and efficient kernel scheduling.
