DD, the editor is messing up on you again. It's okay, Photobucket links are fine. I opened them in a new tab and beheld the yummies.

There were a few images of the Launch Tower that I needed to do a double-take on .. my reaction was "wait -- what?!" (in a good way!) ... ahhh ... the concrete mountain finally getting its' upgrades is a welcome sight.

Thank you for finding those. We all win.

This editor seems to be okay for awhile, then it gets cranky on me....almost like site work changing things?

Some posts have the proper spacing...next day, it's toast....:D

Just did an edit to warn others of my mess....

Now it can be told....

The original visiting vehicle schedule was for Cygnus OA6 to fly on March 10, then Dragon CRS-8 with BEAM to fly on March 20.

Now there has been a last minute payload added to the Cygnus OA6 manifest, mandating it to be moved right to NET March 20. This moves Dragon CRS-8 to NET April 1.

Orbital ATK ‏@OrbitalATK
Due to additional cargo processing needs from @NASA, #OA6 launch is now set for NET March 20. Will keep you posted on official date.

Does anyone know what happened to the engines of the Jason-3 core? They recovered the Octaweb and some engines appeared to be intact, so some suggested they might test fire the intact engines but I haven't heard anything since. Here are some pictures:

There have been a few long duration tests the last few days, captured by a reddit poster who lives next door. L2 may know, reddit does not. The tests are neat with lots of steam from the water deluge system...almost sounds like cranking out cores and testing, if this keeps up for a while.....:D

Darn it, now I've got ideas for SpaceX T-Shirts and more posters.

"WWMD -- What Would Marty Do" with a picture of him and the space tape.

"Marty and the Wonder Workers" -- in the style of those NASA Travel posters to the exoplanets

"Full Thrust" -- A Falcon 9 FT doing a gravity turn in the same style

"Heavy Duty" -- Obviously a Falcon Heavy in the same Travel Poster style sitting on a launchpad

"Visions" -- Elon Musk, looking into the distance at Dragon, Dragon 2, Falcons 1, 9, Heavy, then Mars, then an outline of .. something new. Done in the style of the Travel Posters (maybe).

A few other ideas.

Wonder how much SpaceX would charge for licencing? And ... would Elon and Marty be okay with using their likenesses?

A poster of Elon with white cat, in the volcano lair, pressing the BFR launch pad button to uncover the lake.   :woot:

Now we're talking. :D Like I said before, as long as I get a name tag, I'll work for him. The people with the name tags don't get attacked by the Secret Agents.

Oohhoooh ... "in development" .... :D

Excuse me whilst I do the happy dance. With pixies. And unicorns. In a field of kittens. While Morgan Freeman narrates.

He needs to narrate a SpaceX video.

CRS-8 test stand static fire Friday: good
CRS-8 non-fire mechanical test Monday: malfunction

Damage to engine hardware. Checking to see if fast repairs can be made, they need to return it to Hawthorne or need do a stage swap. NASA in the loop.

    • Surprise! We still can't get it right. With the current state of AI, the crappy software, the huge mega-corporations that back all of these idiot things, I think we are a very long way away from SAE Level 5. I, for one, will never get in one.
    • Nice. September/October GA?! I'll keep following it, but won't install any preview or beta versions.
    • Wow, that could have been dangerous, certainly not ready for these things. They have to be 100% or pretty well close to it. Not that I will see one i doubt, never mind ride in one, they may have them in London, but I doubt they will come to where I live.
    • Nothing kills CMF Phone 2 Pro's successor due to rising memory prices by Hamid Ganji Storage and RAM prices have been rising over the past year, leading to a significant increase in the cost of electronics for customers around the world. Many companies are now revising their plans for upcoming devices due to higher component costs and overall production expenses. CMF is the latest company to cancel the successor to one of its best-selling phones due to rising memory prices. CMF is a sub-brand of Nothing and focuses on making budget smartphones for growing markets. The brand launched the CMF Phone 2 Pro last year with some eye-catching specifications and an affordable price. While many customers may have been waiting for a successor this year, one of the company’s executives has announced that CMF will not release a new smartphone this year. And AI is to blame. As Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis announced on X, the company has been working on a successor to the CMF Phone 2 Pro, but with current memory prices, it cannot “build a phone that feels like a genuine step forward at a price that makes sense for CMF.” So, no new CMF phone will be launched this year. Meanwhile, Evangelidis said the company still has several new products in the pipeline, including some in entirely new categories. He added that the Nothing brand will also continue launching new products through 2026. Budget smartphones are among the first victims of the surge in RAM and memory prices, as they have become more expensive to build. The sharp increase in memory costs could also reshape the traditional price ranges associated with budget phones. Apple CEO Tim Cook also recently said that price increases for some of the company’s products are unavoidable because RAM and memory have become significantly more expensive this year. Analysts estimate that the base price of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro could rise to $1,399 due to current market shortages.
    • Nudge me when they bring back hardware audio acceleration so I can get my EAX 5 back. We've evolved graphics to real-time path tracing, but regressed audio some 15 years back in time with this stupid software audio stack.
