All those are confirmed, and if discovery was that bad they wouldn’t of bothered with the section 31 show set in the same time and characters.

The hell they wouldn't given what a ###### poor job they're showing a high covert operation as

the show runners of discovery certainly wouldn’t be involved in any of them.

How many show runners have they burned through again?

It's just as bad as that time in season 1 when a "Klingon D7" was coming by, but then a bad rip-off of a Wraith Hive Ship dropped out of warp.

Even at it's worst Voyager might have been better than this

I do think it's comical at how some people try to defend the "real story" of a fictional universe as if it is a fact of history, you know, the likes of which are fictional and subject to change by the very nature of the story 😛

Discovery has only changed show runners once, between season 1 and season 2.  That's hardly a big thing, lots of shows change show runners at some point to try and keep them fresh.    There's no huge meaning behind it.  I get the haters want to find all the flaws and complain about things but come on, at this point if you really hate the show why are some of you still even watching it?

There's lots of shows I don't like, or liked at first and started to not care about later, so I stopped watching.   It's almost comical how haters of this show just keep watching it and keep hating on it.

Incorrect. The original showrunner (Bryan Fuller) was changed out before the end of season 1, hence the rushed termination of the Klingon War storyline, and replaced with Aaron Harberts and Gretchen Berg. Then they changed AGAIN shortly into season 2 because, supposedly, the new showrunners went rather over budget on the first few episodes and were also apparently being abusive towards the writing team. Alex Kurtzman took over from them so that makes 2 changes for a total of 3 different show runners.

My problem is her character's concept.  Shoehorning her into Spock's family doesn't work, is stupid, and completely unnecessary.

We never knew had a (half) brother until Sybok was introduced he was introduced in Star Trek V, so I'll can except that Michael is his foster sister.  Her "woodenness" I'll chalk up to her trying to be Vulcan.  Spock never truly mentions family and logically (literally) Sybok is his half-brother and Michael is his foster sister.

Also, they ruined Klingons with that stupid redesign, and turned them into nothing more than space orcs.

Agreed, and because of the backlash of the change they'll be changing them yet again, https://screenrant.com/star-trek-discovery-season-2-klingon-change/

I'm a Trekkie but not a die-hard Trekkie and I do enjoy Discovery regardless of breaking some of the cannon, which I blame JJ Abrams for this crap.  My biggest question is how they are going to get rid of the Spore drive.

Probably around the end of season 2 it'll breach and destroy the entire ship, thus removing the problem of the too advanced ship, the whole spore drive itself, Spock's sister and the android on the bridge! :p

Yes, and we all know how well the whole movie with Sybok "worked"...   Worst of ALL the Trek movies, period!

I didn't much care for the first episode of Season 2 but they sure made up for it with the second episode. I'm also loving the character of Pike, which has really improved the feel of the show.

What people have to realise is that previous series like TNG, DS9 and ENT took time to establish their style. The early episodes of TNG were pretty poor but they did well with certain characters, just as DIS has done. That doesn't mean it's going to be a classic like some of the previous series but it certainly has the potential to be. It's certainly magnitudes better than ENT was.

This!  Even so far as to as to say it's an understatement.  Season 1-2 TNG was poor.  And now look how much people cling on to it.

There's more to the Fuller departure, he himself, iirc, had wanted to leave to work on another show.  I don't remember the name of it though.  So when the showrunner himself decides it's time to go and isn't forced out like with the other two at the end of season 2, I don't really count that as being the same.

I agree, every show needs time to get going, which is why when a network kills a show after one season, like fox has for example, it makes me mad.

As far as this being a classic, I don't know yet, we're only at the start of season 2, who's to say if after 4 or 5 seasons we're not at a totally different level?  The big difference here is that this is the first trek series that isn't as episodic as the past ones have been.  Saying that though, many of the fan fav parts of TOS/TNG/DS9 etc are the 2 part stories IMO, or the longer arc parts that have a more flushed out story.

He left to do American Gods on Starz, then he left that.

Most likely they will jump to another unexplored quadrant (like Voyager) and never heard from again 😛

They'll stop using the spore drive at the end of season 2 because they'll finally realize it's just too dangerous to use and Tilly won't be able to get it to work without Stamence etc.

Things are not looking good for Discovery...

When I first heard about the tweet I figured it was just from Pike being contracted for a single season in an attempt at linking this thing into TOS. The apparent cost of season 2 and the reshooting WTF?? Nerdrotic has just gone off his nut about the steaming pile of manure that rolled out today!! My god it made New Eden look like a masterpiece! I thought the Power Rangers scene from episode one was Treks worst moment but this entire episode would top that.

... What the hell did I just watch!?

The space orcs are still space orcs, but now they're hairy space orcs. As for the rest of the episode... Yeah... No.

1 out of 10, guys... And that's being generous.

Agreed, this was a terrible episode.

Writing was terrible, shooting it was terrible WTH is with all the camera rotations, who thought that was actually a good idea repeatedly?

Kling-non's now have hair include porn mustaches. Do they shave full body or just above neck for war? Asking since everyone missed that in DS9!

Smearing face paint can may leave residual listening devices? Ya OK.......

Pike uses a screen for communications. Going to have to explain away the holo communicator at some point!

The kling-non baby..... Not even going to bother

Logic extremists are back! Again not even going to bother... Spock / Michael / Amanda some sort of incest /pedo weirdness going on. Spock's problems are all down to not feeling... If only he had "the feels" he'd be OK

Spock apparently idolised Burnham well who wouldn't the audience has constantly been shown how super terrific she is for 18 bloody episodes!

Ghost / spore / vision-quest character laying on the accent way to thick waiting for her to say "lets all go part-ay my brudda's and sis-ta's. Thankfully she's now been Ghostbustered

Yeah the Klingon fighting sucked, camera jerks & quick cuts interspliced with lightning and fires. Who knows what was actually happening? Those weapons don't look like they'd hold up in any fight, cheerleader battons for the 23rd century! One of the few positives the Klingon's had pink blood, while Klingon's were shown to have red blood both before and after ST6 it does demonstrate the hack writers are at least aware of Star Trek's existence.

Georgea... Georgou..... Whatever? shows up looking like Anubis, not only does she wear a massive cloak she's hologramed up underneath it. Why both? Makes obligatory note of "tiny male brains" Really why not just tiny Klingon brains? Now a "security consultant" Don't tell anyone you work for section 31 we'll just let the black badges give that away at a later date!

Klingon chancellor-ess needs a more badarse title she decides on M-O-T-H-E-R????????????????

Section 31 (maybe it's 32 because they don't act like 31) have a super ship and it has a shimmery black paint job. That'll stop anyone finding it I'm sure........ Oh except Burnham if she wants to because she's super awesome as we're all told all the time!

Pike is still indecisive, he's meant to be one of Starfleet's greatest ever captains though :/

What would be helpful for the Discovery command training group would be using a holodeck, the entire ship seems to have holo-emiters but they decide running through the corridors and stopping whatever actually happens on the bridge is a better idea :?

Episode 1 & 2 it could be said they were at least attempting to fit it in with the rest of the franchise (failing 99.99% of the way however) this entire thing though was one big fat nugget in the toilet bowl. Yet to hear any defence of it

I especially hated the thing with Tilly.  I mean, seriously... What the hell? How'd they rip that massive thing out of her without ripping HER apart, and where the hell was it hiding INSIDE her without seriously displacing her internal organs everywhere...

I'm giving CBS one more chance.. If the next episode is as bad as 3, I'm done.

Just caught up on the show and I see what others have posted here, but I am enjoying it.  Been weirder things happen on Star Trek though out the other series.  It is science fiction after all.  Take it to seriously and you won't enjoy it.  I am actually liking the 2nd season better than the first.  Some episodes are better than others and some just suck.  Take the good with the bad.

Some people can't not take it serious for some reason.  Like you said, past shows have had crazy out there stuff happen in some of their eps.   There's no reason to try and actually make sense of things in a scifi show.    Besides, we're talking about dark matter at play along with alternate dimensions.   Both things real science has theories about but it's anyones guess what and how they are.     I agree this is the weakest ep of season 2 overall but it does have a good bit of character development, and it does introduce us to section 31 officially.  Now they can work out into a section 31 spinoff series that fans have wanted for quite some time.

I like that they brought back Michelle Yeoh.  I liked her in many movies as well.  And Pike added some humor and tension release in the show as well, which IMO, was sorely needed.   And the whole Red Angel, have not figured that out yet.

As far as the creature being in side Tilly and how they did not notice it before....reminds me one one of the earlier episodes of TNG (Conspiracy) where creatures affected Start Fleet.  Riker and Picard went to earth and found the queen alien inside Remmick.  They didn't find the host creatures until they did a scan, like Tilly, and they took over without displacing any organs and were removed without harm at the end.  And the creatures took up a lot of space inside the host.

But again, it is science fiction and people need to use their imagination and enjoy the ride.  If not, this is not and was not ever meant for you.

Yeah, the Klingon fight scene seems pretty much dialed-in and it looked like Ash's weapon was CG instead of an actual weapon/prop at times.

Let's add to Michael's stiff acting and bring in T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) 😛

You might as well just stop watching already, you're determined to hate it lol. How'd they put everyone back together in that TNG episode where barclay turned into a spider, or in threshold where janeway and pairs ended up as lizards. Crazier things have happened on Trek than a fungus getting ripped out of someone, gore and guts free lol.

    • The original word arts were far more awesome! With their own preconfigured fill patterns, 3D layout, etc, with options to fine-tune their size and colors as desired. I especially loved the ones circled below and still miss them from my primary school years: I frankly use them less these days 'cause the new one isn't as straightforward fine art as what we originally had, taking time and effort to get back to the same graphics quality as the original offered, which I simply don't have enough of for merely fine-tuning my presentation titles. Same with the built-in picarts selection. Bring back the original pre-configured options for word art then I'll be using them far more frequently in my presentations even today.
    • What didn't you understand about that was mainly referring to Google, Microsoft, etc. keeping your passwords. Password Management is a key service of Bitwarden and it's not going anywhere. In any case they do offer export to other Password management services, backup/download of passwords, and the already mentioned on-prem option. I don't agree with the OP to use the free option as it's better to be an actual customer IMO. They don't just don't delete accounts like the big tech companies with no recourse which was the main concern of this article. I was confused if the author was trying to sell this setup? It should be obvious to anyone reading this article this solution is overly complicated and overkill for most users.
