see, this is what i was most worried about, eu immigration is not an issue, never has been to open minded UK citizens.

Its a known fact thats been stuck under a carpet, the immigration issues we see are from OUTSIDE the EU, just as it was before the creation of the EU.

you are welcome in the UK Jub apologies on the ignorant and nothing short of racist ideals from morons like Farage and a lot of the population over here.

thats the biggest thing about this that winds me up, the lazy ignorant uk citizens with the stupid mindset of "immigrants" coming over here and taking all our jobs, taking less wages etc etc etc

hold on a second the majority of the UK workforce are lazy, wont lower themselves to do some jobs, yet my experience EU workforces are the opposite and and willing to do a lot of roles the UK populace refuse to as the low wages cant beat their social security benefits.

for example, in our factory we have a Sots workforce and Polish (50-50), you can tell the jocks from the others easily, they are the ones standing at anothers workstation gassing...the others they stand at THEIR workstation working while gassing amongst themselves.

that says a lot negatively about my nation, and nothing but positive with incoming workforces.

Oh, you're so wrong with that "you are welcome in the UK" statement, but you're also right about the lazy citizens thing. A lot of people from my country are in the UK, doing jobs that the "aryan race" there doesn't want to do, like working in warehouses, mcdonalds, or whatever. This is not a problem, but there IS a constant problem with the uk people being racist ######. I know people that live there for 15 years, some of them are managers, yet they still feel the racism of the locals. For a nation that claims is "highly advanced" and "civilized", the reality is way different. Obviously, I'm not talking about everyone there, there might be exceptions. But, overall, UK is a ###### place to work in if you're from another country. Aside from the higher pay checks.

About this vote, I don't know much about the future effects on other EU countries, so I can't say if it's a good thing or not. My guess is this move will eventually end the EU, because I have a strong feeling that Germany will be next to leave, and this WOULD be a pretty bad thing. But time will tell.

I do support the democratic process and the outcome for our collective nation of britain ( we are no longer united so Britain seems least offesnsive)

But for my nation of birth, we are permitted a 2nd referendum to leave Britain to join the eu, Scotland has been shown yet again our voice do not matter a flying toss to westminster, sooner that 2nd ref happens the better imo.

Youll get to replace the union jack with the st georges cross and welsh dragon, if Scotland and now N ireland get their way. :woot:

Another independance ref by SNP will happen within 2 years of cameron notifying brussels via lisbon treaty.

FACT (like it or loathe it) this plays right into SNPs lap.

Thanks english/welsh voters ;) im sure we will strike a deal to lock the price of all the water, electric, and other resources we currently sell to you ;) /s

To be fair I wouldn't hold it against any Scots who did not support the democratic process or the outcome... It is not fair being forced out of the EU when as a country you voted to stay in.

mate you honestly cant tar all 64million uk citizens as racists, racism in the uk is usually manifested in a certain type of person, not all 64million of us are like that!

Some of my closest and most trusted friends are Hindi, Seikh, Italian and Polish for example. Where somebody comes from is irrelevant imo.

I can only comment on my local area and Scotland is a country of multiple religious beliefs, nationalities and differences in the entire population and tolerance is abundant. Granted we can sometimes have a bit of rivalry in the christian faith over here between 2 specific football teams, but that is old and tbh stupid between scots. and of course the rivalry with our english neighbours, but thats down to being the beaten nation in a centuries old war (which tbvh doesnt matter at all these days, we are the same land mass)

Scotland and the UK have had immigrants (god i hate that word) in our populace since the 18th century and the British empire, most people with more than 2 brain cells abhor racism. Its a fear of someone being different, which tbh is stupid and outdated nonsense.

I dont think for a second you really meant "aryan race" to the UK (Ayrian = blonde hair & blue eyes of Germanic descent), have you any idea how offensive that is to a country who fought alone (until USA entry into the war) to try to free Europe from the stranglehold & eliminate persecution, genocide and racism of the highest order in last century due to a genocidal maniac who came into power in nation of Europe and subsequently invaded pretty much every other European country?

Really??

Just as i wouldnt ever dream of tarring all of the germanic population as being Nazis. that is so wrong on so many levels.

You know what the real scary thing is about all this, most people voted out of fear, scare tactics, the second highest search on Google after the vote ended up being, what is the EU, and I've seen it enough in person that most people don't know what the EU is, most people wasn't informed and both sides of the argument wasn't helping by slinging mud at each other, if they just had a honest debate and told us the facts, people would of had a better view on what they was voting on, as it is, most of us voted on what the media and politicians told us to vote, democracy only really works when most of the population are informed with facts on what's going on, so really when it comes to voting, you might as well just toss a coin and hope for the best, that or do your own homework on how things work, don't have it force feed to us.

As it is, say Scotland and Northern Ireland pull out of the UK, say we want the same trade deal with the EU which means we still give them a lot of money and apply a lot of these laws, what have we really achieved?, because what I said is quite possible, also the ironic thing is, Scotland might be better off outside the UK, small countries like that seem to have a better chance of prospering better outside of big counters, in or outside of the EU.

I think you're not noticing the quotes. Can you read that I said "obviously I'm not talking about everyone"? And about the "aryan race", I wasn't reffering to the blond hair and blue eyes, but to the "superior race" that they think they are compared to others. Because they sure act like it.

i agree Paul, the oddest artical i saw was a report last night on BBC news 24, Boris claiming that it is not us turning our back on europe.

they then went on to say that the UK while not being in the EU as such may still have to agree to fair trade deals with EU and get this (this cracked me up) still accept certain immigration as a possible condition of the deal, so we left for what? hahahha Farages response? silence.....

i did like Farage claiming after the result that the NHS £350m a week was a mistake......funny they didnt say that BEFORE the referendum huh.

Anyone who listened to both sides knew that figure was revised down to £150m or somewhere around there not long after it was brought up. Politicians always spout out facts and figures and opposing teams debunk it. At least he put some effort into the out propaganda, all I heard from the in propaganda was "We fear this" "We're uncertain about that" and "we doubt we will be better off"  :| They made adverts for the definition of FUD and included no statistics despite having the full backing of government.

Both sides were a clusterf*, I'm just glad this wasn't about picking a new team to run the country, I would have spoiled my ballot as a vote of no confidence.

Yep, heaven help us in the next general election, i really dont like the recent (5-10yrs) change in the way the politicians conduct their manifesto, they seem to be copying USA.

Stop playing ###### for tat and spout proven facts, and they wonder why people turn off to elections and the like.

The thing is with the so called money we would save, what leave omitted (perhaps as it didnt suit their agenda) is how much money the UK actually received from the EU, a shedload more than we paid into it.

Huge subsidies now gone

  • UK farmers
  • UK fishermen
  • UK Biomedical/Pharma Research
  • UK nature conservation.
  • Homegrown Tech industry.
  • Renewable energy projects
  • Multiple UK towns and areas classed as in decline have been boosted massively with EU regeneration projects that our own UK government ignore (mining towns, heavy industry, shipbuilding etc etc).

All heavily bolstered with money from the EU monetary fund, do people actually think the UK govt will a) find those funds b) will actually do anyhting themselves, they didn't before the EU did.

I cant help but feel we have cut our nose off, to spite our face. :( the claim we could spend that money we save in the NHS....ok then heres a concept, its has been proven that the UK spend less of their countries annual budget to the NHS than any other european country, thats why our NHS is in the state its in, underinvestment for 40 years by UK government, thats NOTHING to do with the EU. I left the civil service 15yrs ago now (ex NHS clinician), and since then my ex workmates have been "awarded" payrises below inflation now for almost the entire time.

I do feel for the group who could not make up their mind, hardly surprising as both groups were full of 5h1t and fabricated nonsense, for me personally, any remnant feeling of being British died on Friday morning.

future forms will state Nationality: SCOTTISH and in all honesty the resentment north of the border is now higher than it was after 2014. I suspect the British union days are numbered.

Saw this on TV this morning...

Presenter (in random English high street): So how did you vote?

Woman: LEAVE

Presenter: And this was why?

Woman: I want to support British farmers, i want to go to my local shop and buy fresh British milk!

Collectively all the farmers in Britain face palmed. I'd also like to invite this woman to nip to her "Local Shop" and try and purchase fresh non-British milk. Or even the supermarket for that matter.

If we were a racist country, why doesnt the BNP have any seats in our parliament?  You cant tar the masses with a minority, hell does that mean all Muslms are members of Daesh? No.

One thing i am happy about is the lack of Fascism in our politics, the scary thing is the rise of this again in parts of europe, thats scary 5h1t and something every european country has to try to stem, which I would include Britain in that also collectively.

I understand what you are trying to get across TDT, im not having a go :)

know exactly what you mean.

i saw one from Romford and the woman had her "union jack T shirt on" she was asked why she voted to leave.

Her answers?

Take control of our borders back (we allready have this in Calais but whatever mrs)

Saving our NHS!  (/faceplant)

England is our country for our poeple and thumped her chest, This is England  (/sigh)

ignorance of the highest level, a prime example of the "trump effect" :D fuelled by misinformation by both sides of the campaign.

ive never been that much of a nationalist, but that kind of ignorant reply makes me all the more for splitting Scotland from England. We can then also look funny at their foreign banknotes and wait for the english visitor to say "but its legal tender" role reversal LMFAO

The UK is hugely racially diverse and accepting. It's shaped our culture, it's shaped our food and it's shaped our media.

I'm originally from 15 minutes down the road from Romford in a place called "Waltham Forest" and i'm proud as ###### that my London borough, as all London boroughs, voted a nice big resounding "REMAIN". 15 minutes makes all the difference.

Yep, in all of it though, the biggest wtf moment was majority of Wales........that genuinely had me scratching my head......Wales have received the most eu regeneration funding (and farming subs) since the demise of the coal industry yet flipped the bird to the organisation thats been improving their towns and quality of life more than the UK government who killed off their industries!

I dont think ill ever get my head round that :)

i wonder if Anjem Choudary's 'announcement' that he would backed remain would actually help the undecided to sway toward leaving instead?

Quote

Breitbart London broke the story on Tuesday,

with Mr. Choudary telling us that he backed Remain

because “there are certain principles and caveats” in EU law that offer “recourse” to Islamist radicals.

“I think that [leaving the EU] is something that is probably not in our advantage from a Muslim perspective,” he added.

The story was picked up by the Sun, the Daily Express, the Telegraph and others,

and shone a light on the EU institution’s questionable history of protecting the “rights” of terrorists and hate preachers and blocking their deportation.

From what i have seen this in not true. The UK is one of the few countries to put more money in than we get back, the farming subsidies (etc) were our own money given back to us with stipulations on how it can be spent. By being in the EU we get a lot of money from the financial services but as we have seen the whole banking system is corrupt and broken so maybe leaving that behind is a good thing in the long term?!?

Why does they want to make it difficult for us to trade?? We could have a bilateral trade agreement and pay in say £1-2bn per year and not take all the extra EU government stuff (except obvious things like product/food safety required to trade), instead the option is how Norway and Switzerland are setup, pay in billions, accept free movement and EU governance and have no say on how it is run.

Seems like its heading down the totalitarianism route to me, do we want to be a part of a system that operates that way??

Not 64 million, since the people that I know and worked/are working in the uk are basically in London and the surrounding areas. But this is a common thing for all of them, and to be fair it's not only in the UK. I have another friend that works at a pharmacy in Sweden and he feels miserably there because he's treated like an "outsider" even today, after about 3 years of work.

This word is not what I'm looking for, because for me racism means different color, but I can't seem to think of another that applies in this situation, my english is not flawless :). They HAVE to let other people in, because of european laws, human rights, etc., but that doesn't mean they're welcomed there. And they do feel it every day.

    • Here's how to grab your share of Apple's $4 billion lawsuit payout (if you qualify) by David Uzondu Image via DepositPhotos.com A UK tribunal has approved a collective legal action letting a $4 billion (£3 billion) claim against Apple proceed to trial after consumer rights group Which? formally accused the company of violating competition laws. The tribunal recently set a full trial date for October 2028. Which? filed the lawsuit way back in November 2024, accusing Apple of trapping users in iCloud by restricting rivals from fully accessing iOS. Apple gives users only 5GB of free space, and once that limit vanishes, the system drives upgrades by repeatedly nudging users through notifications. The group claims Apple overcharged millions who bought plans ranging from 99p a month for 50GB to £54.99 a month for 12TB. If Which? wins the now-greenlit lawsuit, the court will force Apple to pay out damages to roughly 40 million UK consumers, with each person receiving around £77 for the pricing abuse. Apple has already put out a statement telling Reuters that the allegations are completely false and that consumers do have choices. "We work hard to make iCloud a great experience, but no customer is required to use it, and customers in the UK have plenty of alternatives to choose from," it told the outlet. The good thing is that if Which? wins, claiming your share requires almost no effort due to the automatic structure of the litigation. You are eligible if you used Apple's iCloud services between November 8, 2018, and June 8, 2026, and paid for upgraded storage during that time. The tribunal automatically enrolls everyone living in the UK on June 8, 2026. The system operates on an "opt-out" basis, meaning you do not have to register right now, and you will just verify your details to collect your cash. However, if you want to leave the claim, you must notify Which? by October 8, 2026. But if you lived outside the UK on June 8, 2026, you must manually register on the official Which? website before October 8, 2026, to opt into the action. If you ignore this deadline, you will lose your chance to grab a share of the settlement. On a related note, Google recently had to resolve a massive data privacy fight by agreeing to a payout of over $170 million to Android users. In that lawsuit, plaintiffs argued that Google programmed the Android system to transmit user data without permission, wasting cellular data. To settle, Google agreed to pay a $135 million nationwide settlement alongside an extra $35 million in California. Eligible Android users must submit online claims to secure their cash, with the final approval hearing literally taking place today (June 23, 2026).

It helps reduce downtime and simplifies troubleshooting when issues occur. To learn more, see Point-in-time restore for Windows. [Windows Update] New! A calendar experience in Windows Update Settings (Settings > Windows Update) lets you pause updates by choosing an end date, for up to 35 days. You can extend the pause by selecting a different end date and re‑pause updates as needed. For more information, see Pause updates in Windows. [Widgets] New! A quieter, more focused Widgets experience helps reduce interruptions and improves default settings and notification controls: Reduce distractions: Widgets no longer open on hover. Notifications and taskbar badges are minimized by default. Simpler: Open to the Widgets dashboard by default on first use. Customize: Configure Widgets how you want by selecting Settings in the navigation bar, then changing any of the default settings. Stay informed: Dashboard icons show the number of alerts, and badges clear automatically when you leave a dashboard. Adjusted defaults: Some default settings are preserved based on usage, while others adjust to reduce interruptions. Performance improvements: This update provides improved reliability, responsiveness, and visual quality across the Widget experience. [Accessibility] New! This update makes your screen easier to see and customizes your zoom experience: Screen tint: Apply a full-screen color overlay to help reduce eye strain and improve readability. The address bar suggestion dropdown is more reliable and now consistently closes after an item is selected. This update addresses an issue on File Explorer Home where OneDrive files could appear duplicated in the Favorites section. This update includes several refinements to the Rename experience: Addresses an issue where text was repeatedly selected when renaming items in folder views. Addresses an issue where case-only name changes were not immediately reflected in folder views for items stored locally or in the cloud. [Bluetooth] This update improves reliability and performance when connecting to and using Bluetooth devices: New! Windows now keeps the microphone mute state in sync between the audio mixer and the Hands-Free Profile (HFP) for a more consistent experience with Bluetooth headphones with mute buttons or indicators. Accessory compatibility workarounds: Improves compatibility with specific Bluetooth audio devices, helping AirPods appear faster in pairing mode and improving microphone reliability on Beats Studio Pro headphones. Bluetooth audio stability: Improves overall Windows stability with certain PC manufacturer drivers (error code 0x9F). Improves Bluetooth reliability for voice calls when using Classic Audio devices with the Hands-Free Profile (HFP). Reduces time for LE Audio accessories to start playing audio while using the microphone. Device management: Windows will no longer show a “Remove failed” message when attempting to remove Bluetooth devices if the Bluetooth radio is unavailable or has changed since pairing. Settings experience: Improves stability when using the Bluetooth & devices settings page for a smoother, more consistent experience. Connection reliability and responsiveness: Reduces the time it takes for classic Bluetooth audio devices to reconnect after Windows resumes from hibernation. Improves reliability when LE Audio accessories disconnect, such as when another device (for example, a phone) connects. Improves reliability of LE Audio streaming after a connection is lost and restored. [Bluetooth and Phone Link] This update improves audio routing for calls made through a connected phone: When an outgoing call is dialed from a paired phone, audio remains on the phone while ringing and transfers to the PC only when the call is answered from the PC. When Do Not Disturb is enabled on Windows, incoming call audio from a paired phone no longer rings on the PC. [Voice access and voice typing] New! You can now use voice access and voice typing in French, German, and Spanish. As you speak, your PC improves your text in real time. It corrects grammar, punctuation, and recognition errors, and helps improve clarity—even in the presence of background noise. This makes dictation smoother and reduces the need for manual edits.3 [Audio] This update improves the reliability of the inbox HD Audio driver. [Taskbar] This update improves the reliability of opening the Start menu when selecting the left edge of the taskbar when the icons in the taskbar are left-aligned. [Networking] This update includes networking improvements for virtualized environments. Confidential Virtual Machines (CVMs) now use SR-IOV hardware acceleration by default for improved network throughput, and a configuration issue in nested Hyper-V virtualization network setup has been corrected to ensure reliable VM network provisioning. This update improves the reliability of the Windows networking stack. It reduces bug checks (blue screen errors) related to Wi-Fi power and improves cellular (WWAN) connectivity, including support for IPv6 VPNs. Compatibility with third-party VPN software and SR-IOV configurations on server hardware is also improved. Network adapter settings and bindings are now preserved across OS upgrades. [Printing] New! New printer installations use Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) by default when supported, simplifying setup and improving reliability. For details about third-party driver deprecation, see End of Servicing Plan for Third-Party Printer Drivers on Windows. To control this behavior, use the toggle in Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Default install printers using Windows Ready Print. For more information, see Introducing Windows Ready Print and modernized driver selection. For more information, see Introducing Windows Ready Print and Modernized Driver Selection. [Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)] The update improves usage of WSL in mirrored networking mode with VPNs. [Display and graphics] Improves the reliability of rendering content while scrolling for certain apps spanning across multiple monitors. Improves the reliability and persistence of applying color profiles. [Location services] This update changes how some location settings are displayed in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location to help with clarity. When location services are turned off, settings like Default location and Allow location override don't immediately apply, since location information is not given to apps or services. These settings will now be greyed out when location services are off to reduce confusion over when they take effect. [Search] This update improves the reliability of setting Search related group policies. [Input] New! You can now customize the size of the right-click zone in Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad. Choose from default, small, medium, or large to control how much of the bottom-right corner responds to a single-finger right-click. This setting is only available on touchpads with a pressable surface. If your device manufacturer provides customization through their own app, a Custom option will appear to reflect those settings. This update improves recognition of English characters when using Japanese handwriting. [General performance] Improves the time to shut down Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) when you turn off your PC. [General Reliability] This update improves the reliability of explorer.exe. It addresses issues on the login and lock screens related to third-party credential providers, reduces the probability of taskbar icons appearing as blank gray placeholders, and improves navigation to Home in File Explorer during OneDrive sync. It also improves explorer.exe reliability when switching between desktops, enhances app launch with shell extensions, and using acrylic blur effects in the Start menu, Settings, and the lock screen. [Apps] Resolves an issue where some installers and applications could show unexpected elevation (UAC) prompts after installing KB5089549. [Remote Desktop] This update refreshes the dialog design when you enable Remote Desktop in Settings > System > Remote Desktop. [Graphics Kernel] Improves memory-management policy that allows PCs with more than 32GB of installed memory to run larger local AI models. Up next we have the features under normal rollout: [Secure Boot] With this update, Windows quality updates include additional high confidence device targeting data, increasing coverage of devices eligible to automatically receive new Secure Boot certificates. Devices receive the new certificates only after demonstrating sufficient successful update signals, maintaining a controlled and phased rollout. [Authentication] This update improves Netlogon secure channel connections between domain controllers, enabling successful connections from member servers to domain controllers set up before 2025. [Emoji Panel Update] The emoji panel (Windows key + period (.)) now uses GIPHY for GIF content following the deprecation of Google’s Tenor API. Starting June 30, 2026, install the latest Windows update to continue using GIFs in the Emoji panel. If you don’t update, you will see a "GIF service is not available" error in the panel. Installing the latest Windows update will restore access to GIFs. [Networking] This update improves how your device connects to shared network resources. Connections used by apps and system features, such as the NetUseAdd function, now work more reliably, including unauthenticated (null session) connections. [Recycle Bin (known issue)] Fixed: This update addresses an issue where the confirmation dialog might display an internal Recycle Bin file name instead of the original file name when permanently deleting a file. This issue might occur after installing the June 2026 security update (KB5094126). [Taskbar] This update improves notification badge display across your apps. Notification counts and badge visuals now update correctly, helping you stay up to date with new activity. You can choose to manually download the update from Microsoft's update catalog website at this link.
    • Hands-on with BOOX Tappy: cute little reading accessory by Taras Buria Page turners are quite popular accessories for e-readers, as they enable a hands-free reading experience, which is particularly useful with large readers featuring 10-inch or larger displays. The BOOX Tappy is a new accessory that was introduced earlier this year, and we took this cute-looking thingy for a spin. The Tappy comes in a small box, with two additional buttons and a user manual. The device is made of glossy green plastic and resembles old appliances from the nuclear age. Material quality is great, and each part feels quite premium. Plastic is high-quality, the switch is nice to flick, and the buttons are not rattly. At the bottom, four rubberized feet prevent slipping when used on a desk. Unfortunately, there are no color options, and the Tappy is only available in green. It looks good, but I wish there were other options as well. There are two removable buttons, an on/off switch, and an LED indicator that displays connection mode, charging status, and more. The buttons resemble those of an old typewriter, with quite a long travel distance and a pleasant clack. In the box, you have four buttons with different icons: heart, coffee, O, and X. You can easily swap buttons by simply pulling them upwards. Tip: buttons come with plastic covers, but they are quite tricky to remove. It is hard to call the Tappy the most ergonomic remote control, but after fiddling with it for a few hours, I managed to find a comfortable hand position. Attaching a lanyard to it can make it more comfortable in use without the fear of dropping it, but unfortunately, the Tappy does not come with one. The Tappy connects via Bluetooth 5.2, and it works in three modes, which you can toggle by pressing and holding both buttons for about five seconds: Reading Mode Multimedia Mode Browsing Mode Next / Previous page Next / Previous Track Up / Down scroll If you pair the Tappy with a BOOX device (I tested it with the BOOX Go 10.5 Gen 2 Lumi), you will get small pop-ups indicating the current mode. Plus, you can customize what each button does when pressed one time, two times, or held for a few seconds. The list of available actions and features you can use is massive, and I like that BOOX lets you map stuff like brightness adjustment, app launching, screenshot-taking, screen rotating, navigation, and more. Note, however, that while you can use the Tappy with other readers, its customization is only available on BOOX devices running firmware version 4.2 and newer. I could not connect the Tappy to my computer (Windows 11 claims a driver error when I try), but it worked with the DuRoBo Krono that I recently reviewed. My Kindle Paperwhite refused to work with the Tappy, though, just like my iPhone. The Tappy uses a non-removable Li-Ion battery, which can be recharged with a Type-C cable. BOOX rates the remote for "weeks of use," and I can say that it indeed has very good battery life. While there are no battery indicators on the remote, you can see the current level in the status bar or in Input settings in the BOOX firmware. After a few days of active use, mine still shows about 95%. Overall, the Tappy left a nice impression. It is well-made, and the integration with BOOX devices is great. I also like that BOOX decided to have some fun with its design and swappable buttons. I cannot say I am a fan of its odd shape, though. Still, I managed to find a way to use it comfortably. And when not in use, it just looks neat sitting on the table doing nothing or serving you as a small clacky fidget.
