Unless your account has had money taken from these guys then you won't achieve anything. Things work differently on the internet to how they do in retail stores. It's all about a legally binding agreement and an order isn't seen as an agreement until the other end ships it or takes money etc. At the end of the day everyone knows that the HDs shouldn't be sold at that price so you shouldn't expect to get them at the price either. If you think you deserve a HD that you fully well know is an incorrect price then you're no better than a shop lifter.

What are you trying to do? Ruin it for everybody? Okay, in all liklihood they would have all been cancelled anyways, but did you really have to call them up and make sure to kill everyone's hope? Yeah, that was kinda over the top... I did mention that I realized they would all be cancelled anyways... That's not what I'm angry about. It's the fact that he called them up personally to make sure that they were cancelled. That's just.... Evil! :devil:

Ohh you might be lucky. I wonder if (legally) they could refund you instantly without shipping the product etc and get away with it. That'll be interesting.

[Edit] Oh my god... My CC just got charged for both purchases I made... This actually makes me feel uncomfortable... I kinda made that second one with the assumption that at least one of them would be cancelled.

This is just the "Authorization" for the charge. Depending on when uBid cancels the order, and how long it takes your bank to credit it back to your account. Did you use a "Debit" card?

In the end you're right... they all will more than likely be cancelled. But on the chance that somebody DOES get one/them, let us know... it'll be interesting to see what the TOTAL outcome of this is.

It's a debit card, but whenever they do the authorization check, i show a pending charge for 1.00 then just before it goes thru, the charge for the actual price shows up. I now show both the auth check and the actual charge.

well taht's what i was thinking but wanted to give you the chance to come to that conclusion.

even if they only went for half of what the drive retails for you're STILL making money.

      Along with that and very unfortunate for Linux, the AI boom/tariffs/global supply chain instability really destroyed any chances of it getting a decent chunk of market share. By all accounts, if a Steam Deck was still available for $399 (with tons of alternatives releasing at $500-$800 - instead of $1500+ now) and the Steam Machine was out there for $499, I think a lot of people WOULD have been willing to try SteamOS and switch away from Windows. But yeah, with the crazy jacked up prices now, people have to make safe bets with their money.

      That's really the user's problem, not the developers. It's not like the Windows 10 EOL was a surprise. Once a product goes out of support, you have to understand YOU are owning the risk of running it - the rest of the world will move on, maybe you'll be OK, maybe you'll be OK for a while, maybe you'll have an issue.... But you can't expect devs to write or certify software for dead operating systems.

      Not mentioned in this blog post is that Linux has now dropped for 2 months in a row. At a hight of 5.33% in March, then 4.52% in April and now 3.99% in May. I suspect the end of Windows 10 got a bunch of people to try Linux, fueled by all the Microsoft hate, and rabid social media push of that....and now they are going back to Windows 11 because of the normal Linux issues. The vast majority of PC gamers want to use their computers to game and not trouble shoot why a game wont work, or half work.
