Assassins Creed Origins for sure! I am highly anticipating that game.

I've been a fan of the series from the start but I'm feeling it's been too much, I held off on buying Unity and Syndicate day one like I did with the others.   It would've been better to space out releases but Ubisoft had a hit on it's hands and put the peddle to the metal till sales took a bit of a hit with Unity.

I really want a new Splinter Cell, need my stealth fix, even though they keep working on the stealth side of AC, it just never feels quite right to me.

I am excited for this Assassin's Creed mostly due to the setting that they opted for this time. It is intriguing. I can't argue with you though. A new Splinter Cell would be a good change of pace. Personally, I am a fan of vehicle simulator games. I wish they would release a new version of Silent Hunter with modern 4k graphics. That would be insane!

I'm all for Splinter Cell in general, I just don't see what they can do with it that hasn't been done.

But does it need to be something new? Better graphics, larger levels, improved gameplay and I'm in :p

Just last week I cancelled my Xbox One X pre-order. Hopefully someone else managed to get my Scorpio edition ;)

Nooo it had so much to live for :(

Damn man I've been playing stuff on my X1 and in general it looks fine but there's just so many obvious low quality bits.  It's not a good 1080p machine by any standards.

In some games it doesn't matter as much as others at least, but ugh.  I'll be glad to be done with it.

I just find that I'm finding less and less time to play.

If I paid much more, it would have been fine, but given the lack of time and the amount of money it would be. I'd prefer to wait either until Scorpio 2 or when I have more time and it's cheaper...whichever comes first. :p

  • 2 weeks later...

Lookin at the 7th...everyone else was freakin out about what amazon was telling them in the chat app or whatnot but I figured why bother I'll poke things if I actually need to :p:)

Currently enhanced games list, and it's supposed to go up to 70 during launch week.

So who's managed to get the One X already?

I had an alert yesterday saying that the Scorpio Edition was back in stock on Amazon and almost caved and bought it :p I'm still going to make the most out of my Day One Xbox One. I'll probably jump with whatever comes after the X.

Looking forward to seeing your thoughts!

Good thing you didn't because that's a lie. I've just spoken to Amazon's customer services because they aren't going to deliver my order this week, apparently they haven't even received them from their supplier.

Oh really, that's pants :( Hope they manage to sort it out soon

Unfortunately MS chose to use UPS as their designated logistics service, and UPS is pure crap around here so not expecting mine till tomorrow, will report back!

That's interesting. Down here in England they're by far the best and only reliable logistics service. I hope you get it soon!

Yeah it's unfortunate. I've been looking forward to this a lot and sold my Xbox One a few weeks ago. :(

Yeah, I never had an issue with them in London, but here they just tend to save up as many deliveries as they can for one big trip rather than deliver on demand. They've denied it in the past but it's more than a co-incidence that no matter what day I'm due a UPS delivery, I always get it on the Wednesday.

That does sound suspect indeed! I hope they make an exception for you today. :D

Of all the consoles, this is the only one I've preordered. Can't wait to get it today in UPS!

I have a ton of games on my XB1 which is the original 500GB version and I have 3TB external storage. Is my best strategy to delete the games I don't want to keep, transfer everything to the external, and plug that into my XB1X? Will it just start working or is the X going to want to format it as new storage?

Also, it's been ages since I've bought a physical copy of a game. If I don't feel like waiting for Forza 7 to download, can I buy a physical copy and play it without having to load the disc?

That's what I've done, apparently you then plug the external in to the new X and you'll be good to go.

Don't take my word as absolute truth, but I'm fairly certain you'll still have to download a huge (50GB or more) amount of data.

    • I wonder how many are laid off for cost savings, and this being blamed on AI to make it sound less scary and bad, for a more positive "modern, with the times" spin for investors? Because Oracle is down 14% the past year. We're looking at a company struggling here. If AI would actually be working out so well for them that they can do massive layoffs, surely this would've been reflected the past year in their stock value?
    • AI is the beginning, wait until real robots replace more jobs, specifically jobs that require physical work.
    • AI is indeed eliminating jobs, and Oracle just proved it by Hamid Ganji There’s no question that AI has become the hottest trend in workplaces, and every company is trying to adopt AI-driven solutions across its operations. While some industry leaders repeatedly say AI won’t lead to massive layoffs, recent data suggest that AI is actually one of the main reasons some companies are reducing their workforce. According to Oracle’s annual regulatory filing, the company has laid off about 21,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce, amid increasing AI adoption. “The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing. The software giant now has approximately 141,000 full-time employees, a notable decrease from 162,000 during the same period last year. Restructuring expenses, including severance payments, cost Oracle $1.84 billion in fiscal 2026. Additionally, around 49,000 Oracle employees were based in the U.S., while approximately 92,000 were employed internationally. Like many other companies, Oracle has fully embraced AI and concentrated much of its efforts on the technology. The company is also a key participant in the United States’ $500 billion Stargate Project, which aims to build multiple AI data centers across the country. When it comes to AI adoption and its impact on the workforce, opinions remain divided. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, recently said in an interview that attributing job cuts to AI is a “lazy” narrative. “The narrative that connects AI to job loss, for many of the CEOs that are doing it – it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived, how is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang said. However, statistics and recent reports tell a different story. According to Layoffs.fyi, 196 tech companies have laid off about 119,800 employees so far this year. Reducing staff and replacing roles with AI agents could become one of the most significant trends in the job market in the years ahead.
