Mapped network drive showing disconnected, but works fine once accessed

I haven't see this behavior exactly before.

 

Windows Server 2012 R2

Windows 10 1703 client

Access Based Enumeration

Mapped Drive through GPP

All folders are in a common Shared folder (Shares is the root with folders under that using ABE)

 

I can add and remove the user from the group and the drive stops/starts mapping correctly.

 

Once clicked on it continues to show Connected.  After a restart, it show Disconnected again until accessed.

Common issue I see all the time.  Normally on systems that are wireless.  I normally do not worry about it since the mapped drive does work.   But I came upon this....
