Episode 2s little "twist" didn't surprise anyone, not that they were trying to hide it.  Overall a good episode, characters acting like they should.

People hating on the Titan-a captain because of his attitude but honestly he's doing what he should be doing when you're by the book as it sounds like he is.  Thinking about the safty of his ship and crew over the life of one criminal is reasonable.  Until he finds out it's Picards son and then he goes with it and doesn't object.  Only thing he's a little meh is how he teats 7 at this point.

I'm interested to see how the two plot lines tie in together going forward.

Shaw's hostility and wider attitude suggests a deep rooted underlying animosity towards the Borg - much the same as Ben Sisko's. We don't know Shaw's back story: for example where was he during Wolf 359 or First Contact. What caused the latent hostility? We know that Janeway and Picard were instrumental in Seven getting into the service, so perhaps Shaw wound up in a position where Seven was virtually thrust upon him, thus forming further animosity. Then Picard (who may have been at least partly responsible for dropping Seven on him and himself being a former Borg) magically turns up out of the blue and seemingly conspires with his former Borg XO to create even more mayhem.

So Shaw has prejudice. Perhaps the haters might find - if the writers are up to it - that his prejudice is worth exploring.

I hated Shaw in Ep1, and he's growing on me as of Ep2.

Also, why are people complaining that characters have depth.  Lol.

I agree, he was presented as being very one dimensional in ep1, adversarial without much hint as to why the attitude, but the signs were there. He likely realised that Seven was probably a contributing factor to the out if the ordinary request while his choice to ignore the Admiralty would be very telling in the military.

I almost immediately felt “anti-Borg bigot” from him…

And this is where Trek needs to explore, situations around such ideas. I’ll say the same of Star Wars; we have skirted close to anti-Droid sentinels many times, “we don’t serve their kind” and we know why.

For all you Raffi haters :p   Rumors that she and Worf might get a spin-off series.

I never cared for her character either, to much attitude but I think that is her as an actor that is doing it so I'll blame poor choice.

Haven't watched this weeks ep yet may do that tonight. I'm glad to see them get back the older actors in this final season but I'm hoping for more space fighting/action in this go around than previous.

I don't like new trek, I've tried them all and hated them all (Star Trek Beyond gets a pass). But I have to say 3rd season of Picard is not bad. I felt in episode 3 that it was the first time Patrick Stewart made an attempt to act like Picard. Still don't like Raffi, does anyone? Although she's less annoying with her new companion

I'm one of the oddballs that liked her from the start as well as my wife.

Watched the 3rd last night, didn't care for the bickering between two certain members...I feel like it was forced and took away from the action being done space fighting and all.

Was some good space fighting though for a change.

The bickering I think ties back to the conversation Picard had with Crusher in sickbay.

Spoiler

Though Picard's actions to attack a ship that is way more advanced weaponry than the Titan was a little odd.

I'm hoping the nebula is the same 'nebula' from Strange New Worlds, The Elysian Kingdom.

What bugs me about these space battles is that Star Trek seems to only stick with the X and Y axis and completely ignores the Z axis.  The only time I remember them using the Z axis is in Wrath of Khan in the Mutara Nebula.

Picard isn't acting like himself at all.  Wanting to fight constantly.  That's not like him.  Feels very forced.  Very annoying.

I hope they can develop a good series around Worf.  He's shining in this.

Parental Instincts?  I hope they explain it.

At least they finally got around in explaining Jack's accent 😛

Are we sure that's him?  Just saying.

If rumors are correct, we will be seeing "The Fat Lady" - Enterprise D - in action again. The hull was salvaged and they have been hinting at its return on this season. As a matter of fact, in one of the trailers you see the crew talking in the meeting room that looks exactly like the Enterprise Ds. I personally would love to see that Enterprise in action again. We shall see.

It's possibly part of the fleet museum

Last night was another good episode.

Spoiler

Riker's move to throw an asteroid at the Shrike was priceless.

Now, what the hell is going on with Jack and the hallucinations?  They remind me of the Red Forest from the 12 Monkeys series.
