Mojang announced the next update to hit Minecraft back in January, one that would overhaul every baby animal in the sandbox game. The game drop was a big focus of today's Minecraft LIVE presentation, as, alongside detailing all of its features again, the studio finally attached a release date to the update and gave hints at what's coming after.
The Minecraft Tiny Takeover update is releasing on March 24 across all platforms. As previously announced, this includes dozens of redesigned baby mobs (including for tamable and wild animals, villagers, zombies, horses, and more) with custom sounds and animations. Other changes include a Golden Dandelion item for keeping baby mobs permanently at the baby stage, a trumpet note block effect from Copper, and a crafting recipe for the Nametags item for the first time.
Mojang did not stop there. Looking towards the future, Mojang also revealed that the second game drop for Minecraft in 2026 will be the Chaos Cubed update.

The biggest feature of this update seems to be the Sulfur Cube. This unique block is said to be capable of changing its physical properties depending on what materials it's absorbing, which is where the "chaos" part of the update's name comes from.
Found inside new Sulfur Caves that can spawn in the overworld across many biomes, Sulfur Cubes can absorb materials on their own within a range or be fed by players to trigger their physics-changing properties. While not many details have been revealed yet, it looks like these blocks can move, float, slip, bounce, and maybe even fly differently depending on what they are fed.
Sulfur Caves can also form with sulfur pools and gas particles that can poison and add a noxious effect to players. At the same time, Sulfur and Cinnabar have been confirmed as new blocks with yellow and red aesthetics, respectively, which is great news for decorating fans. They can be used in raw, brick, chiseled, and polished states.

Unfortunately, the studio did not attach a release window for the Chaos Cubed update at Minecraft LIVE today. As with all other updates, though, expect preview builds of it to go live relatively soon, letting inquisitive players try out the experience early as it gets polished.
