Netflix's redesigned app has that one feature you might take for granted

Netflix is rolling out a redesigned version of its mobile app with better navigation and the Clips vertical video feed.

Netflix has just rolled out a visual redesign for its mobile app, currently available in the US, the UK, Australia, India, Canada, Malaysia, the Philippines, and South Africa. The update brings a fresh wave of change to the buttons and options you see across the app.

The streaming giant said that its new design focuses on streamlined navigation and visuals. You'll notice that Netflix has rearranged several buttons on its home page. For instance, the search icon present in the top-right corner of the screen has moved to the center of the navigation bar at the bottom.

Netflix Update April 30 2026

It's a small but useful change that makes it easier for people with small hands to use the app or to use the device with just one hand. Meanwhile, the New & Hot button now sits at the top, alongside Shows, Movies, and other categories.

The top-right corner of the Netflix user interface now has a bell icon that opens notifications. Previously, all the notifications lived in the My Netflix hub, which now appears somewhat decluttered after the latest update. Also, the top of the homepage now says "Home" instead of your name.

A highlight of the latest update is the new TikTok-style feature called Clips, which you might take for granted by now because it's there in almost every other social app. It presents a vertical video feed of content from different movies, specials, and TV shows to help you decide what to watch. Netflix claims the feature doesn't have endless scrolling to send you into a digital black hole but works more like a highlight reel.

Netflix Clips Vertical Video Feed

The streaming giant has been testing a vertical video feed for mobile users for a year now. The Clips feature lets you add movies or TV shows directly to your My List and share recommendations with your friends. Netflix will expand Clips in the future to add genre-based collections, live programming, and podcasts.

The design refresh comes almost a year after Netflix rolled out a major visual update for its TV app. All of these changes and features will roll out worldwide in the coming months, the company said. Still, Netflix hasn't fixed one big issue with its navigation that we highlighted in our Netflix features wishlist: the ability to easily jump between title pages without repeatedly going back.
