The developer behind the hugely well-received Ori franchise, Moon Studios, has been building its next game for quite some time now. No Rest for the Wicked entered Steam Early Access back in 2024 and has since been receiving updates with content and features. However, during the State of Play presentation from Sony today, the studio announced a console version as well as a release date for the action RPG project.
According to the studio, the 1.0 release is set to bring a massive content injection to the action RPG, offering fresh gameplay for both solo and cooperative enjoyers. This includes a new horde mode, new weapons, bosses, enemies, fresh areas to explore, and a brand-new class system.
Here's a full rundown of upcoming content that should add over 60 extra hours of gameplay:
- Sprawling New Areas: Explore the full game’s 15+ hand-crafted regions filled with secrets, terrifying bosses, and intricate pathways.
- Increased Gameplay Flexibility and Deep Progression: An all-new class and progression system allows players to fine-tune their Cerim warrior to their exact style. Two players using the exact same weapon will play nothing alike.
- Persistent Multiplayer: Players can share their journey in free private realms where the world evolves even when the realm’s original creator is offline.
- Final Story Arc: Revenge. Passion. The ending players have been theorizing about since 2024, including tons of hand crafted cinematic scenes will be part of 1.0 and it is worth every hour players have put into the Sacra.
- Endgame Content & Replayability: Players will test their skills in challenging new endgame activities designed for the most dedicated warriors.
- Crossplay & Cross-save: Full Crossplay and Cross-Save between PC and Console at launch.
No Rest for the Wicked will launch out of early access and hit version 1.0 sometime in October 2026. Exclusive goodies like a secret hideout and a new sword are being offered to those who play the early access version (or pre-orders on PlayStation 5) as well.
The studio has already sold over 1.8 million copies of the game during early access on PC. Now with the 1.0 release in sight, it is aiming to launch the game on PlayStation 5 on the same day. Moon Studios says that Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are also being planned, but their release will happen after PC and PlayStation 5.
A 30% discount is currently running for No Rest for the Wicked on Steam as well, letting players jump in early.
